Mapping the Marvel The universe is not the kind of thing you can just snap your fingers into existence.
To begin with, there is many lands Out there in the multiverse, there are all sorts of mystical dimensions and other strange places, too. But even on a single version of Earth, there are plenty of points of interest, from the hometowns of fan-favorite heroes to fictional nations that only exist in comics. Are you trying to find all of the Marvel hangouts in New York City? Forget about it.
However, for his latest book of cool graphics, that’s exactly what Tim Leong did: map the Marvel universe. For his new book, Marvel Super GraphicLeong made a diagram of mystical planes, an illustration of the proximity of Kamala Khan’s residence in New Jersey to Moon Girl’s laboratory on the Lower East Side, and even a Bad girls–Schematic illustration of who sits where in the Empire State University cafeteria.
But that’s just the beginning. Leong, who, to be fair, once served as WIRED’s design director, has taken the job. Marvel Super Graphic with charts and graphs covering many aspects of the Marvel Comics universe. Check out some geography-focused highlights from the book above.
