Unless you opt for a portable option, you’ll want to make sure you have A projector stand ($20) and audio cables properly routed to the projector location. This is because setting up full-size projectors to fit the screen, be focused, etc. can be a pain, so once you have everything set up, you’ll want to leave it as is.
Make sure you get enough lumens (the maximum brightness your projector will achieve; the higher the number, the better). 2000+ lumens is a good starting point for any kind of illuminated viewing, but we recommend 3000 or more if you’re viewing in a bright room.
Another thing to consider before purchasing a projector is how much space you’ll need to properly set it up. In most cases, you’ll need 10 to 15 feet (3 to 4.5 meters) between the screen and the projector (be sure to check the manufacturer’s “throw distance” in the manual) to achieve screen sizes larger than 100 inches.
