Unfortunately, Chelsea Lazkani finds herself front and center on the explosive new season of Netflix’s hit show Selling Sunset, as her husband’s alleged infidelity ends up being one of the series’ main storylines.
Fans got a taste of what was to come when a trailer for season eight was released last month and showed Chelsea, 31, breaking down in tears after a woman named Amanda Lynn, who has recently been accused of posting racist tweets, told Bre Tiesi that she heard “something about Chelsea’s husband.”
What happened in the new episodes is that a friend of Amanda’s apparently saw Jeff Lazkani “making out” with a mystery woman around Christmas time, and Bre, 33, decided to break the news to Chelsea in an emotional scene filmed at LA restaurant ADKT for episode five.
But while the new season doesn’t share much insight into Chelsea and Jeff’s actual breakup, Selling Sunset fans already knew they had split because the British-Nigerian real estate agent filed for divorce earlier this year.
On March 27, it was reported that Chelsea had filed a lawsuit, TMZ claimed, stating that the legal documents cited “irreconcilable differences” as the official reason for their split.

Chelsea filed for divorce from Jeff Lazkani in March, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
Chelsea and Jeff, who met on Tinder in 2015, share three-year-old daughter Melia and five-year-old son Maddox, and the TV star has reportedly sought “joint legal and physical custody” of their children.
Additionally, Chelsea requested spousal support from the 41-year-old California native, but it did not end Jeff’s ability to seek alimony himself.
TMZ noted that nowhere in her filing was a prenup mentioned, but stated, “Chelsea is saying that her division of assets should be determined in court.”
Chelsea did not provide a date for their split and quickly deleted almost all traces of Jeff from her Instagram page, where she currently has 702,000 followers.
Just a week after Chelsea filed for divorce, Jeff fired back and accused her of being “physically aggressive,” with his lawyer noting that he wanted a divorce as well, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason.
In a written statement, Jeff, managing partner of Icon Media Direct, accused the reality star of being “physically aggressive” and claimed it happened before and after she filed for divorce after seven years of marriage.
Jeff also alleged that Chelsea “punched” him “in the face in an aggressive manner, breaking his glasses and causing a small cut on the side of his face.”
She also claimed that in order to maintain the well-being of her two children, they should not both live in her five-bedroom Manhattan Beach home, of which Jeff claims to be the primary owner.

Jeff went on to allege that Chelsea, who he said was not named on the mortgage, “installed a lock on the master bedroom to” his “exclusion, remotely monitors his access to the property and records him on the property.”
The property was purchased for $2.9 million in 2018 and Jeff has asked for “exclusive use and possession” of the home and alleged that Chelsea “provokes” him and “records him in an attempt to catch him overreacting to her.”
He also accused Chelsea of ”exhibiting suspicious behavior” and claimed that several of her “personal belongings” had gone missing or been stolen from their home after Chelsea filed for divorce.
Among the missing items, she said, were a scarf she received from a deceased matriarch of her family, her father’s hat and a spare key to her car.
He claimed Chelsea confessed to moving his Rolex after he asked her where it was, and said she had “also been hanging around the property and attempted to” get into his room “when she thought he wasn’t home.”
At that point, she requested that Chelsea be given 48 hours to remove her belongings from the property and not be allowed to enter for more than two hours.
He also wanted “a neutral party” present to help them divide up any items they couldn’t agree on.
It’s unclear whether or not Chelsea and Jeff’s divorce has been finalized, but season eight ended with her taking off her wedding ring while telling the camera, “I think this needs to come out.”
Chelsea claimed she would have “fought until the end” for her seven-year marriage

“I thought the foundation I built in Manhattan Beach would continue to be built for years. I would have fought to the very end for my marriage,” she added.
The mother-of-two was also spotted speaking on the phone with co-star Emma after viewing a property in Studio City, and admitted: “I haven’t really been able to wrap my head around what the next few months, let alone the next few years, are going to be like for me.”
“But being in this house screams new beginnings to me and I’m not closing my mind to that like I did before, I’m just embracing it,” Chelsea added, hinting that she might be ready to move on.
Seasons 1-8 of Selling Sunset are now available to stream on Netflix.
