Paramount+ has announced that Bobby, along with former EastEnders stars Lucy Benjamin, Larry Lamb and Anita Dobson, have joined the cast of the highly anticipated show.
The EastEnders stars join series stars Sarah Parish, Mitchell Robertson, Mandip Gill and Alexandra Burke in the six-part crime thriller streaming on Paramount+ in the UK.
Curfew, an adaptation of Jayne Cowie’s novel After Dark, began filming earlier this year and new cast members are expected to film scenes in the coming weeks.
The series will focus on a society governed by the ‘Women’s Safety Act’ where men are tracked with ankle tags and confined to their homes under a strict curfew starting at 7 pm every night.
When it is discovered that a woman was murdered during curfew hours, police officer Pamela Green (Parish) believes that a man must be responsible, but if she proves that a man committed the brutal crime, she could bring down the Law of Women’s Safety.
Bobby will play James, a schoolboy who advocates for the abolition of the curfew.
Lucy Benjamin is DCI Sue Ferguson, who is overseeing Pamela’s investigation, while Larry Lamb is Rhys Holden, whose family is learning to adapt to the rules of society after arriving from America.
As he looks for new roles, Bobby reportedly renewed his contract with EastEnders over fears he would leave the soap.
But, after considering stepping away from the BBC soap, he decided to continue in his role as Freddie Slater, according to a source who told The Mirror last week: “Bobby is seen as one of the Square’s brightest young stars. and losing him would have been a huge blow to the show.
“For his part, he loves playing Freddie, but he was in high demand after Strictly and felt he needed to properly consider all the offers open to him.
‘Fortunately he has decided to renew his contract and everyone is delighted.
