Wally Lewis has issued an ominous warning to travelling New South Wales fans ahead of the State of Origin decider in Brisbane.

The Blues will face Queensland in the biggest Origin clash in years, with the series decided tonight at Suncorp Stadium.

Michael Maguire’s side head into the game high on confidence after beating the Maroons at the MCG in Game 2, raising serious questions about the fragility of Billy Slater’s defence.

But the visitors will have to overcome a hostile atmosphere in Brisbane, with 50,000 fans expected to give their all for Queensland in a bid to help them reach the finish line.

And Maroons legend Lewis has told Blues fans they are in for an “uncomfortable” experience on enemy soil tonight.

“What we have to constantly remind them is that this is Suncorp Stadium, if you wear a blue shirt you are not welcome here and life is going to be uncomfortable,” Lewis told Nine’s Today.

‘I predict this will be one of the best State of Origin games ever.’

Of course, Lewis hopes tensions do not boil over in Brisbane, where football has been plagued by incidents of fan violence recently.

Earlier this month, security at CommBank Stadium came under fire for failing to act quickly enough to quell escalating fan violence in the stands during Souths’ win over Parra.

Fan footage shared on social media on Friday showed a number of male and female fans from both NRL teams appearing to push and punch each other as the nearby security guard looked on.

The footage begins with a man wearing South Sydney fan gear appearing to be thrown over a row of seats as a man dressed in Parramatta colours wrestles him to the ground.

A woman wearing Parramatta clothing went in to help before another woman wearing a Rabbitohs shirt under a black padded jacket burst in.

She helped the man wearing Rabbitohs fan gear to his feet and escorted him to the exit.

“Hurry up, dammit!” a man who had not been involved in the alleged violence shouted at security guards stationed higher up in the stands.
