Users began reporting outages around 4 a.m. and the number of reports peaked around 10 a.m., according to Fall detectora site that monitors online services.

“We are continuing to answer general questions by phone at our 800 number and at our local offices, while offices are closed today for in-person service,” the program’s website states.

‘We are working to quickly resolve the issue and apologize for the inconvenience.’

The outage affects more than 64 million Americans who have registered for a secure personal account on the My Social Security portal.
