  • The Secret Service is already under scrutiny after the attempted assassination of Trump

A Massachusetts salon owner feels ‘violated’ after the US Secret Service raided her business during a nearby fundraiser for Vice President Kamala Harris.

Footage from a Ring security camera shows an officer approaching the front door of the business in Berkshire, Massachusetts, before returning to record the video camera.

Alicia Powers, the owner of the salon, said that after the camera covered the location, officers broke into the building by forcing the lock and then allowed several people to use the bathroom inside over a two-hour period.

Amid increased scrutiny of the agency that protects America’s most prominent politicians following the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump, the Secret Service is now being forced to apologize for this much minor blunder.

After Business Insider called the agency Speaking about the strange case, Powers says a representative from the Secret Service field office in Boston called to apologize.

Ring footage captured a Secret Service agent recording a salon’s security camera before breaking into the business and allowing several people to use the bathroom for two hours during a Kamala Harris fundraiser nearby.

“He told me that everything they did was very wrong,” Powers told Insider. “They weren’t supposed to be able to record my camera without permission. They weren’t supposed to be able to enter the building without permission.”

Additionally, the building’s owner, Brian Smith, confirmed that he never gave Secret Service officers permission to use or enter the building.

“My father and I own the building, and there’s this crazy, eccentric guy living upstairs,” Smith said. “And he didn’t tell the Secret Service that they could use it, and I didn’t tell him, and my father didn’t tell him, and they didn’t have permission to go in there.”

Power said it became clear that she would have to close the day on Saturday, July 27, when Harris was scheduled to attend her first campaign fundraiser after becoming the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.

But the owner of Four One Three Salon in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, said that if she had been informed that the Secret Service needed to use her business’s facilities for security personnel for the fundraiser, she would have opened her doors.

“Whoever was visiting, whether they were a celebrity or not, would probably have opened the door for them, made them coffee and brought them doughnuts to make sure they had a great afternoon,” Powers said.

“But they didn’t even have the audacity to ask for permission,” he added. “They just helped themselves.”

Just weeks ago, Kimberly Cheatle resigned as director of the Secret Service after Donald Trump was shot in the ear during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, last month.

The agency’s failures prevented early enough detection and action to stop the 20-year-old shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, from climbing onto a nearby rooftop and shooting the former president.

The bullet that grazed Trump’s ear was just inches from his head. Other rally-goers were not so lucky: one died and two others suffered serious injuries before the Secret Service neutralized the shooter.

Social media is outraged by the latest “rape” and calling the incident an “act of tyranny.”

“The salon owner should file charges with the police or local security officer. The officers should be arrested for this,” wrote one X user.

Another said: “This is an unforgivable act of tyranny by the Secret Service, an egregious abuse of power that goes against every principle this country stands for.”

“For officers to enter a private business, disrupt security, and treat a citizen’s property as if it were their personal playground is an absolutely criminal act,” they added. “This is not simply a violation, but a disgusting display of arrogance, a despicable disregard for the rule of law, and an insult to the rights of all Americans.”

“Heads must roll for this. Apologies are of no use. Accountability is non-negotiable. This atrocity demands immediate and severe consequences.”
