It was a moment of perfect capitalism on Friday when two fans wearing Scottie Scheffler T-shirts, one of which had the golfer’s mug shot, were seen high-fiving the world No. 1 as he walked through the PGA Championship.
Consider everything you had to go through at this moment. Hours earlier, the golfer was arrested on second-degree assault charges stemming from an incident involving Louisville police outside Valhalla Golf Club in Kentucky.
Scheffler was booked into a local police department, had his mugshot taken, and was then released on his own recognizance.
For these two golf fans, this presented itself as an opportunity and somehow they were able to print two t-shirts before.
One was of Scheffler’s mugshot, the other was of Scheffler wearing a purple bandana, a reference to the American version of the television show ‘The Office’, where main character Michael Scott adopts the alternate persona of ‘Prison Mike’.

Scheffler was arrested that morning and charged with second-degree assault on a police officer.
The two men in the first image were not the only ones who printed Scheffler products.
But it wasn’t just those two sporting merchandise alluding to Scheffler’s arrest, with many ‘Free Scottie’ t-shirts scattered across the grounds of Valhalla.
The golfer was able to overcome the morning’s events and put in a stellar performance to move within a short distance of leader Xander Schauffele.
Scheffler shot a five-under 66 on Friday with three birdies on the front nine and three more on the back nine, offset by a bogey on the 11th hole.
He is now just three shots behind Schauffele, who has a one-shot lead over Collin Morikawa and a two-shot lead over Sahith Theegala.
Scheffler is tied for fourth with Bryson DeChambeau, currently the top LIV golfer in the field.
