Samantha Armytage is believed to have signed a deal with Channel Nine to host a new dating show.
Daily Mail Australia reported last month that Armytage, 48, was making the jump to Nine to present The Golden Bachelor and The daily telegraph now reports that the agreement has been signed.
The contract is rumored to be worth a “significant amount,” according to sources, but no exact figures have been released.
The announcement comes after months of negotiations between the television star and his new network.
“There was a little back and forth, but I think the contract has been signed,” a source told the publication.
The Golden Bachelor is a spin-off of the series The Bachelor, but it differs in that the contestants on the reality dating show are older people.
The recent season of the American version of the show has been a huge success, with its finale earning 6.1 million viewers, making it the most-watched final episode of the American Bachelor series since 2021.
‘This is a smart move for Sam and Nine. “She fits this job well and breathed new life into Farmer Wants a Wife,” the source added.
Samantha Armytage is rumored to have signed a deal with Channel Nine to host a new dating show.
It comes after speculation that Samantha was the favorite to host Nine’s new reality show.
Entertainment journalist Peter Ford weighed in on the debate last month and suggested the host of the Australian version of ABC’s US smash hit will be none other than Sam.
The popular presenter announced her departure from Seven in August after 21 years with the network.
Addressing X, Peter responded to a report about Internal media about the potential host, stating it would almost certainly be the former Farmer Wants A Wife director.
“If I was a punter I’d put money on @samarmytage,” Peter suggested.
“She is now a free agent after leaving 7 and has made it clear that she was interested in new opportunities.”
The former Farmer Wants A Wife host, 48, who recently left Network Seven, has been hired as host of The Golden Bachelor, The Daily Telegraph reported on Sunday.
The report itself put paid to rumors that former Bachelor host Osher Gunsberg would be returning to the franchise.
Sam became the face of popular dating show Farmer Wants A Wife last year after first appearing as a guest host alongside former host Natalie Gruzlewski.
But he surprised fans of the franchise in August by announcing he was leaving Seven after 21 years.
Sam described the departure as “sad and bittersweet” and told The Daily Telegraph that she felt her time had come to an end and she was excited about her future.
‘I have great instincts. I listen to my instinct. I know when the time comes. “I’m proud that I backed myself enough to say, ‘I’ve done what I can do here,’ and I’m moving forward,” she said.
‘This is not the end. It’s just the end of this chapter.
