Ruth Langsford made a heartbreaking admission about ageing on Monday as her ex-husband Eamonn Holmes moves on with Katie Alexander.
The Loose Women panellist and former ITV presenter, both 64, shocked fans in May when they announced plans to divorce after 14 years of marriage.
Eamonn has since moved on with relationship counsellor Katie, who at 42 is 22 years his junior.
On Monday’s episode of Loose Women, Ruth spoke about her concerns about her own age with fellow panellists Coleen Nolan, 59, Brenda Edwards, 55, and Kelly Holmes, 54.
Ruth said she walks “the tightrope of trying to be the woman who doesn’t mind aging,” but can’t help but feel “awful” at times about the changes in her body.
Ruth Langsford made a heartbreaking admission about ageing on Monday’s episode of Loose Women as her ex-husband Eamonn Holmes moves on with a younger woman.
Eamonn, 64, is in a new relationship with relationship counsellor Katie Alexander, who at 42 is 22 years his junior (pictured on Sunday in Barcelona).
She explained: ‘When I hit 60, it seems like everything happened so fast. You know me, I don’t tend to worry too much about age. But at 60, I’m now 64, I feel like everything has fallen and collapsed and I’ve got a weird neck.
“I can see it. When you take a selfie or something, whereas before I didn’t notice it. Now I do and I’m like, ‘Wow, look at that.'”
‘We promote a lot of body positivity here, confidence – age is just a number. I’m walking a tightrope, trying to be that woman who says, “Age is just a number, count your blessings in life, all my friends look like that.”
‘Then I have those moments where I could fall off the tightrope and say, ‘Look at my neck,’ it’s horrible.’
Ruth is said to have been left in “shock” by how open Eamonn has been about his new relationship with Katie.
The GB News presenter was spotted landing in Spain for a late summer getaway with his new girlfriend, after their 14-year marriage collapsed in May.
A source told MailOnline that Ruth did not expect her ex-husband to be so open about his new romance.
The source shared: ‘Ruth is surprised by how open Eamonn is about their relationship – after all, they both still have their wedding rings on.
Revealing the real reason the estranged couple haven’t taken off their rings, they added: “Neither of them want to be the first to take it off because they don’t want to look guilty for the split.”
Ruth (pictured in 2006) said she walks “the tightrope of trying to be the woman who doesn’t mind aging” but can’t help but feel “awful” at times about the changes in her body.
On the contrary, Eamonn is said to be “smitten” with his new love.
Speaking about the presenter and Katie’s holiday plans, the source shared: “They both love cruising and feel like they can be free on board to act as they please. They are both in love.”
When contacted by MailOnline, Ruth’s representatives declined to comment and Eamonn’s representatives did not respond to comments.
The couple flew out of Heathrow Airport on Sunday morning before landing in Barcelona for a luxury holiday.
Eamonn, who has struggled with back problems in recent years, was seen driving a mobility scooter through the terminal while Katie pushed her luggage and a walking frame.
They were later seen at the Port of Barcelona where they were seen laughing and joking with other cruise passengers.
It’s not the couple’s first trip on holiday this month, with Eamonn taking girlfriend Katie to visit his hometown of Belfast amid claims they’re “in it for the long haul”.
During his time off, he was spotted by locals in Carrickfergus dining at the same budget restaurant, Papa Browns, for four days in a row, The Sun reports.

A staff member at the American restaurant told the publication: “He came four days in a row. I noticed his girlfriend had an English accent. They seemed happy.”
They continued: ‘He looked quite fragile and it took us a minute to recognise him, but he was always very polite and friendly.
“They both seemed comfortable being seen together. Eamonn really enjoyed it.”
He is set to return to GB News Breakfast next week with co-presenter Isabel Webster, who has been presenting the show solo in her spare time, the Express reports.
Eamonn is said to be smitten with Katie and their relationship has “taken to the next level”, MailOnline previously revealed.
Friends said they now spend most weekends together at his Richmond apartment after his marriage to Ruth ended.
Eamonn and Katie are reportedly considering when to go public with their relationship and have been offered “a lot of money” for the first official photos of them together.
The source shared: ‘They have been offered decent money for the first pictures of them together.
Ruth was left in shock by how open Eamonn has been about his new relationship with Katie, who is 21 years his junior, as they headed off on a cruise together.
“Katie and Eamonn are definitely in it for the long haul. She says she loves him and he loves her.”
The pair’s friendship progressed when he moved out of the marital home he shared with Ruth after his devastated wife discovered messages between him and another mystery woman.
As for Eamonn’s health problems, a source recently told The Mirror: ‘He’s doing the best he can under the circumstances but there’s not much to smile about.
“He’s not looking to give any interviews and is just keeping his head down and working on GB News and doing physiotherapy sessions to try and improve his mobility.”
