Roy Keane has revealed that he was recently left furious by a player who wanted to confront him after the match when his team was losing.
The Manchester United legend made the comments on the recent Stay with football podcast, hosted by Sky Bet.
Keane normally vents his anger at Premier League players and clubs, but the discussion on the podcast took a surprise turn to League Two football and in particular a match between Milton Keynes Dons and Salford City on Monday night.
Canadian goalkeeper Tom McGill, on loan at MK Dons from Brighton, came under fire from Keane for his behaviour in the latter stages of the 1-0 defeat to the Class of ’92-owned side.
“The madness I find when players come out to play from the back when they’re losing,” Keane said on the podcast.

Keane complained about the number of touches Gill (left) was taking as MK Dons searched for a comeback goal in their League Two clash with Salford City on Monday night.
‘The goalkeeper came out and made seven or eight touches…
‘I was going to stay in the dressing room after the game and look at the MK Dons goalkeeper and ask him: ‘Do you know that when you’re losing with 15 minutes (to go)… you’re losing?’
Keane’s speech prompted laughter from the podcast’s co-hosts Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher.
The former United captain continued his tirade, insisting that he wished he could call a “time-out” while watching the game.
“You know, in American sports there are timeouts. After 70 minutes, you just go to timeout,” Keane said, making a T-shaped gesture with his hands.
‘The guys will come up to you and say, ‘Guys, you know we’re losing, you have to get the ball over there.’
‘(You see) 19 passes. MK Dons. Who do you think you are? Go ahead! It’s like they don’t know what the result is.’
Carragher then turned to Salford co-owner Neville before joking: “Those are Roy Keane’s views and not those of Salford FC.”
Keane said he wished he could have called a time-out for McGill during the game.
Keane made the comments on the Stick to Football podcast, presented by Sky Bet.
McGill himself told club media that the display was not good enough.
He said: ‘We came off the pitch thinking we’ve dominated, we’ve created chances and we’ve had moments in the game where we’ve looked really good, and I think that’s style playing its part.
‘But also when they have tried to stop us from doing what we like, sometimes we have tried to be a little more direct and that has also worked for us.
“The energy of the group in general, the style we’re trying to play, I think we’ll make it work and we’ll always create opportunities. We’ll always have great moments in the game. But right now we’re one win away from four and it’s a disappointing night.”
