Ricki Lake took to Instagram to share an update on her weight loss journey on Saturday, while showing off her incredible transformation.
The actress, 55, revealed that she and her husband Ross Burningham each lost 30 pounds in four months (putting Ricki now at 140 pounds) and did so “without relying on a pharmaceutical.”
She also shared some before and after progress photos, including one in a black sports bra and leggings that showed off her slender figure from the side.
Ricki, who has been battling androgenic hair loss, added that her weight loss process took place while she was in perimenopause, the transition period before menopause, which can slow down the metabolism.
‘Hello friends. I wanted to share with you what I have been doing these last 4 months. On October 26, 2023 I made a commitment to myself to be healthier. “My husband, Ross, joined me in this endeavor,” he wrote in the caption.

‘Together we have each lost more than 30 pounds. I really want to share it, because we did this without relying on a pharmaceutical product. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that.)’ she shared.
“But neither of us were prediabetic and we both felt like we wanted to at least try to do it on our own,” continued the star, whose top weight was 260 pounds.
“Being 55 years old and in perimenopause, I was a little worried that my body wouldn’t lose the pounds like it had in the past.”
‘I’m very proud of us. I feel incredible. I feel strong. I’ll go into more detail in another post about exactly what I did, but suffice it to say, this is the healthiest way I’ve lost weight in all my years.’
“First photo: taken today on our daily walk,” she shared, referring to a photo of herself in a straw hat and gray sweatshirt, with Ross strolling behind her.
‘Second photo and third photo 11/3/23,’ she added, referring to a photo of her and Ross hugging, and another of her on the beach, both of which showed her fuller figure.
‘(I only started weighing myself on 11/15/23) I guess I weighed around 170 when I started. “I’m 5’3,” she explained, adding the hashtags ‘#healthy #fitat55 #proud #thisis55.’
