A new ad from a pro-Trump super PAC sends a message to voters that they will face an economic cyclone if Kamala Harris is elected president, using a roller coaster metaphor to show her circling the track.
In an election that has left voters reeling with its sudden twists and turns, the web ad features dizzying roller-coaster footage as it rehashes some of Harris’s past statements on the economy and accuses the vice president and Joe Biden of “misleading us.”
With ominous music playing as the “Kamala roller coaster” rolls down the track, Harris addresses the worst inflation in 40 years and “the creation of an affordability crisis in food, gas and housing.”
Harris then appears to say that “Bidenomics is working,” an effort to link her to the unpopular Biden at a time when voters are telling pollsters they want change.
“As president, she wants to raise taxes, pass a Green New Deal and double down on Joe Biden’s failed economic policies,” a narrator says.
Harris, who began laying out economic policies last week, says she will end Trump’s tax cuts but protect those making up to $400,000 a year.
It’s a reference to a quote from 2019, in the midst of the Democratic presidential primaries, when Harris said she would end the filibuster to pass the Green New Deal. Her campaign now says she opposes it.
“I think the most important and significant aspect of my political outlook and my decisions is that my values have not changed,” Harris told CNN when asked about shifts in her positions on fracking and issues like the Green New Deal.

It’s the kind of response that will be tested when he’s on the same stage as Donald Trump, in a race that’s essentially tied.
The ad ends with a call to “get off this roller coaster before it’s too late” with a not-so-subtle image for anyone who doesn’t like getting dizzy: a steep drop with people on the coaster audibly screaming.
The announcementspotted by DailyMail.com, it comes just hours before Harris and Donald Trump are due to face off in a debate.
A key measure of her success will be how Harris can explain her past policy positions when pressed, and whether Trump is able to label her with left-wing positions at a time when Harris is trying to position herself toward the center by gaining support from prominent Republicans like former Rep. Liz Cheney and former Vice President Dick Cheney.
Harris is attempting to shift to the center and present new economic positions on housing and lowering food prices. The announcement revisits some of her previous positions when she ran for president in 2019.
The ad ends with a not-so-subtle image of a journey into oblivion.

A new Harvard CAPS-Harris poll released Monday showed that 63 percent of Americans think the economy is going in the wrong direction, compared with 30 percent who think it is going in the right direction.
“The Biden-Harris economy provokes the same feelings one gets when looking at a rickety, broken roller coaster: nausea, fear and dread,” said MAGA, Inc. spokesman Kaelan Dorr.
“Prices have risen, wages have fallen, and the American people have footed the bill for an administration that has done everything it could but address these problems. The American people cannot afford four more years of Kamala Harris; it is time for the world’s most terrifying economic crisis to end.”
