The Klimsenkapelle, which translates as Klimsen Chapel, is located on the summit of the Klimsenhorn, a mountain peak in the Pilatus massif, Switzerland.
Complete with supporting pillars and a red-roofed tower, the neo-Gothic chapel rests on a spectacular cliff overlooking Lake Lucerne.
The church was built as part of businessman Kaspar Blattler’s Hotel Klimsenhorn, which was built between 1856 and 1860, and the chapel completed the complex in 1861.

Klimsenkapelle is not the easiest church to access, Wikipedia grades. It has an annual temperature of 0.9 degrees and is exposed to extreme weather conditions, including storm gusts and heavy rainfall.
The Pilatus massif is made up of multiple peaks adjacent to the summit of the Klimsenhorn, the highest of which is called Tomlishorn and is 2,128 m (6,983 ft) above sea level.
