Pat McAfee has revealed the outrageous number of pints he drank in one night before College Gameday in Dublin, Ireland.
On Saturday, McAfee headed to the ESPN desk across the pond as Florida State prepared to face Georgia Tech at Aviva Stadium.
During the broadcast, he praised the arrival of university football in Ireland and the reception it has received from Irish fans.
“We are in a very beautiful moment, in a wonderful city,” he said. “Football is back. And ‘what’s up with the crack?’, they say around here and that means ‘what’s the story?'”
“Last night’s story earned me 30 Guinness,” McAfee said. “It’s an honour to be in this city and to be back for another year for this, the best show on television.”

After revealing how many pints he had drunk the night before, McAfee was asked if he “split the G” (a tradition followed when taking the first sip of a Guinness) between them all. In response, McAfee said he drank all of his drinks.
“People tend to split up the G, but I broke through and made those things go away,” McAfee said. “And that’s what you have to do when you’re in Ireland among these wonderful people.”
His revelation came after the ESPN presenter got drunk in front of a live audience on a special edition of Pat McAfee at JR Mahon’s pub on Friday.
During the show, he revealed that he brought groceries on the flight to the United States to avoid being searched at the airport.
“When you fly to international destinations, you can’t land in other countries with edibles or marijuana. AJ, a friend of mine, had bought a bunch of edibles,” he said.
McAfee drank six beers during Friday’s show and began drinking before going on air.

“The pilots tell us to make sure there’s none of that stuff on the plane because when it lands they’re going to check it. AJ, you and I probably had 100 mg on the plane.”
“It’s similar to my trip to London from Indianapolis, when I took 13 edibles. Last night was a very similar situation. AJ and I were each on about 100 mg.”
Groceries and 30 pints aside, McAfee dressed for game day and praised the Irish crowd while sporting the national colours on his scarf.
“When you talk about passion, they may not be the biggest college football fans yet,” McAfee said. “They’re just starting to learn to love it here.”
“But when you talk about the joy of people coming here and being able to enjoy the city… Ireland has been fantastic over the last week for a lot of people, the last 24 hours for me, certainly. And this should become an annual tradition for us.”
