Olivia Nuzzi has sensationally blamed her ex-fiance for leaking details of her “affair” with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in what she claims was a bizarre attempt to blackmail her into continuing their relationship.
The New York Magazine writer, 31, was placed on leave last month after it was revealed she had had an “emotional and digital relationship” with the former presidential candidate, 70, after she profiled him for a story in November.
Both she and RFK Jr. have insisted that the relationship was never physical.
Olivia Nuzzi was initially repulsed by Robert F Kennedy Jr. when he tried to grab her hand during the profile piece, before he managed to win her over with “amazing” FaceTime sex.
Friends told Page Six that Nuzzi revealed they had enjoyed steamy FaceTime sessions, and the journalist was impressed by 70-year-old RFK Jr.’s “sexual stamina.”
But Nuzzi has now filed a lawsuit in Washington DC Supreme Court alleging that her now ex-fiancé Ryan Lizza ‘explicitly threatened to make public personal information about me to destroy my life, career and reputation, a threat that has since led to just’.
In 2022, the Correspondent became engaged to Nuzzi, who announced their engagement on Instagram with a series of videos showing off a huge solitaire cut sparkler on her ring finger.
Lizza, Politico’s chief Washington correspondent, was given a no-contact order at a court hearing Tuesday. He didn’t attend.
he said cnn: ‘I am saddened that my ex-fiancee has resorted to making a series of false accusations against me as a way to divert attention from her own personal and professional failures.
“I emphatically deny these allegations and will vigorously and successfully defend myself against them.”
Nuzzi alleges that Lizza began a campaign of harassment in July in an effort to blackmail her into getting back into their relationship.
She claims he was punishing her when she didn’t agree.

The 31-year-old reporter claims her ex-partner is also behind her bosses discovering her connection to RFK Jr., potentially “through a third party from an anonymous channel.”
A judge ruled Tuesday that Nuzzi can have police with her when she tries to get her belongings back from Lizza.
The veteran political reporter rose to immense fame after publishing a profanity-filled interview with former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci in 2017.
The matter will return to court on October 15.
Lizza was previously the New Yorker’s Washington correspondent, but was fired in 2017 over allegations of ‘sexual misconduct’, as she joined a list of powerful industry figures to face allegations related to the #MeToo movement.
He had married his college sweetheart Christina Irene Gillespie, a family physician, at the St. Regis Hotel in Washington in June 2004. The couple had two children, but after 11 years of marriage, they filed for divorce.

On Tuesday, DailyMail.com revealed that close friends of RFK Jr’s wife, Cheryl Hines, expect her to file for divorce in the wake of the controversy.
In an exclusive interview, a Hines confidant said the TV star, 59, was “shocked” by the scandal and had believed her husband’s philandering was a thing of the past.
