And on Wednesday, the actress was showing off her $100,000 oval-shaped 5-carat diamond ring from the sports figure while wearing a strapless red dress with diamond hoops.
Shaun looked dapper in a suit and looked proud of his radiant new fiancée.
The engaged couple were at the 2024 Earthshot Prize at Green Point Shared Fields in Cape Town, South Africa.

The couple announced their engagement in a series of posts on Instagram, with Dobrev writing: “RIP boyfriend, hi fiance.”
Nina, 35, and Shaun, 38, shared snapshots of the romantic proposal, in which the actress said “yes” surrounded by candles and next to an arch of white flowers.
“She said YES,” Shaun captioned the post with a diamond ring and an eternity emoji. She also shared snapshots from her Stories where she wrote: “Best night of my life.”
The photos showed the moment Shaun got down on one knee to ask for Nina’s hand in marriage as she held her mouth in shock.
After accepting his proposal, they shared a sweet hug and Shaun picked her up.

Shaun did everything he could to make the proposal a reality.
After previous plans to propose fell through, Shaun decided to pop the question in late October at a restaurant called The Golden Swan in New York City.

In the weeks leading up to the proposal, she hid her engagement ring in various places in her house, including the tool shed and sock drawer.
But Nina was not feeling well in the days before the proposal and decided to stay to be well for an upcoming trip to Africa.
Undeterred, Shaun decided to go ahead with his proposal plans and arranged for his publicist to send Nina a fake invitation to an intimate CFDA/Vogue dinner with Anna Wintour at the restaurant where he planned to propose.
She stared at her future husband as she stood on the green carpet.

But Nina arrived a few minutes late to the event, which caused some anxiety as she said Vogue events are usually right on time.
“I panicked because Anna was waiting for me,” he shared.

She said yes and friends joined them for caviar and champagne. The celebrations lasted until one in the morning.
Over the next few days, the couple only shared the news with their closest circle and Nina even took off her engagement ring every time she left the house.
