Magazine reporter Olivia Nuzzi says she was allowed to inspect Donald Trump’s recently shot ear during an interview, declaring it “normal, amazing and fine.”
A 20-year-old gunman attempted to kill the former president on July 13 at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, but only grazed Trump’s ear, leaving it bloodied.
Nuzzi, a journalist for New York Magazine, profiled Trump in Florida just weeks after the shooting, but couldn’t help but comment on the state of Trump’s ear.
Trump touched the spot where he was shot, prompting Nuzzi to write: “It never looked like an ear had gone under.”
“The particular spot he identified with his tap was spotless. I carefully examined the rest of the grounds. It looked normal, amazing and in good condition,” he added.

Nuzzi, a reporter for New York Magazine, profiled Trump in Florida just weeks after the shooting and couldn’t help but comment on the state of Trump’s ear.
She said in her Article from New York Magazine who could see a small strip of Trump’s ear that appeared to have been hit by the shooting and described the mark in almost dubious terms.
“Never before has an ear looked like it had been through less. Except there, in the tiniest part of this tiny sculpture of skin, a small distortion that looked not like a crucifixion wound but the distant after-effects of a sunburn.”
Trump himself was somewhat philosophical about his injuries.
“It’s a train track. They didn’t need a stitch. It’s funny. Normally, something like this would be considered a surreal experience, that you don’t realize, but in this case there was no surrealism,” he told Nuzzi.
“I immediately felt like I had been hit by a bullet. I also knew it was my ear. It’s incredible. And the ear, as you know, bleeds a lot.”
His words seemed to give vent to unhinged liberal conspiracy theories about the shooting shortly after it happened.
YouTuber James Klug interviewed the public in Huntington Beach, California, to ask their opinion on the attempted assassination of Trump.
“It was a false flag operation,” one man told him. “Someone died and two people were injured, what do you think about that?” he replied.
But the man simply replied: “False flag.”
Another swimmer said: “I thought it was beautifully prepared. It was done professionally. It almost looked real.”
Asked who might have organised it, he replied: “Mr Trump, of course.”

The man added that the death and injuries were a “small price to pay.” “Trump doesn’t care,” he added. “Do you think he cares that people are dying to get him elected?”
‘Death means nothing to Trump.
“I think he came out alive, maybe with a scratch on his ear. Behind the scenes, all of that was made up.
“They gave him a little scratch on the ear and poured some blood on his face.”
Klug asked: ‘So you think they planned to shoot him in the corner of the ear from 130 yards away?’
The man replied: “He was never shot in the corner of his ear. That was all done by the people around him.”
“I think this was all staged,” a third man said. “It could be (Trump) or the other side trying to make a scene.”
‘But the fact is that it just caught his attention and he stood up and said: America, come on, this doesn’t feel normal.
Trump was hit in the ear and an attendee at his fateful rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, was killed by Crooks’ hail of bullets, which was reportedly ended by a heroic officer firing from the ground.
“It seems to me that it was planned. Blessed be that soul for dying for this cause. I feel so sorry for that person’s family. It’s just a feeling.”
Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, fired eight bullets into the crowd, hitting Trump in the ear and wounding three rally attendees, one of them fatally.
The Secret Service sniper team eliminated the shooter. They said the shooter began firing from an elevated position outside the rally site before being killed. Two other people were seriously injured by the gunfire.
Images on social media show the dead gunman lying atop a beige building about 300 feet north of the stage where Trump was standing when he was shot.
The gunman opened fire from AGR International, a plastic container manufacturing plant.
Trump was mid-sentence, saying “Look what happened” when gunshots began ringing out shortly before 6 p.m. ET, with terrified screams filling the air as he and onlookers threw themselves to the ground.
In the moments after the shooting, voices could be heard shouting “The shooter is down” as Trump dropped to the ground and frightened rally-goers screamed in fear.
The 45th president was seen crouching down while his ear was bleeding. Trump issued a statement on TruthSocial detailing what happened to him.
The body of Thomas Matthew Crooks, the 20-year-old who attempted to assassinate former President Trump, was returned to his family for cremation just ten days after the shooting.
He wrote: “I was shot with a bullet that went through the top of my right ear. I knew immediately something was wrong because I heard a whistling sound, gunshots, and immediately felt the bullet go through my skin. There was a lot of bleeding so I realized what was happening. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”
It had previously been suggested that Trump was struck and injured by a piece of a broken teleprompter.
Seconds later, the blood-covered lawmaker raised his fist in the air to indicate he was OK, while surrounded by Secret Service agents, before being led away.
Trump could also be heard repeatedly asking, “Let me get my shoes.”
Realizing that their hero was unharmed and the immediate danger seemed to have passed, the crowd began chanting “USA, USA” as he was quickly taken away and loaded into a Secret Service van.
The former president quickly put the shooting behind him and appeared at the first night of the Republican National Convention, where he received a hero’s welcome with his ear taped up.
