New York Jets star Xavier Newman was rushed to the hospital after suffering a horrific injury.

New York Jets offensive lineman Xavier Newman was rushed to the hospital after suffering what appeared to be a serious neck injury in their game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Newman fell awkwardly after taking a heavy hit midway through the third quarter and was initially unable to move his limbs as he lay in agony on the turf.

When the Steelers intercepted a pass from Aaron Rodgers, the 25-year-old took the hit and stumbled backwards in an attempt to find his balance, only to fall and land heavily on the back of his head.

After doctors entered the field, he left the game on a stretcher and quickly headed to the hospital amid terrifying scenes.

NBC’s Melissa Stark confirmed that Newman was able to squeeze a trainer’s hand on his way to the hospital after regaining movement in his limbs in a positive update.

The former Tennessee Titans star, who moved to New York in October 2023, had been playing for the injured Alijah Vera-Tucker in Pittsburgh.
