- Matt Barnes’ son Isaiah has had an extremely difficult past few days.
- He has already been discharged from the hospital after the terrible experience.
NBA champion Matt Barnes revealed that his son Isaiah was forced to undergo emergency appendix surgery this week after being hit by a car days earlier.
Barnes, who concluded a long career as a player in 2017, shared with Instagram Sunday that her teenage son was hit by a car while jogging on Wednesday.
The former Lakers and Clippers forward said Isaiah had severe stomach pain Friday and tried to play through the pain at the Mamba Invitational, a basketball tournament named after Barnes’ former teammate Kobe Bryant.
However, Isaiah “couldn’t sleep” on Friday, prompting him to report the pain to his mother before Barnes took her son to the emergency room.
There, the doctor said Isaiah had “the biggest appendix he’d ever seen that hadn’t ruptured” and the teen underwent emergency appendix surgery.

He did not specify whether the appendix problem was due to the car accident or if it was a completely different problem.
Isaiah also called the ordeal “a tough week” in a separate post.
