A motorcyclist with an L-plate was kicked and punched by a biker gang while traveling on a busy highway.
Dashcam footage shows five members of the Mongols Outlaw Motorcycle Gang traveling along the Monash Highway in Melbourne’s south-east on October 19.
A member of the group then attacks an unidentified L-plate cyclist for no apparent reason, attempting to kick and punch him as they pass.
Acting Victoria Police Inspector Alan Rumble said the victim was forced to take evasive action to avoid crashing.
A member of the outlawed Mongols motorcycle gang attempted to kick and punch an unsuspecting L-plate cyclist.
“Targeting an innocent motorcyclist with an L plate who was simply going about his day is seriously reckless and cowardly behaviour,” Det Act Insp Rumble said on Monday.
‘This is completely unacceptable behavior from an outlaw motorcycle gang – thinking they are above the law and putting innocent members of our community at risk.
“We are not intimidated by illegal motorcycle gangs and we will not allow our community to be either.”
Investigators have not yet identified the victim and are eager to speak to him and on Monday asked anyone with footage of the incident to come forward.
