Jay Glazer launched a passionate defense of Michael Strahan after the former NFL star was criticized for not putting his hand over his heart during the national anthem.
On Sunday, Strahan was on the Fox Sports panel, alongside the likes of Terry Bradshaw and Rob Gronkowski, as they broadcast from Naval Base San Diego ahead of Veterans Day.
When the national anthem played, with a large number of military personnel surrounding the team, Strahan kept his hands in front of him, causing outrage among many fans.
Fox Sports faced calls to fire the former defensive end, but Glazer decried criticism from the “angry crowd.”
“Just saw the criticism of @MichaelStrahan,” he wrote on social media.

‘Let me tell you this, I don’t know if I have a friend who is more proud of his military roots than Michael, who grew up on a military base and constantly talks about what he learned from his father, Major Gene Strahan, and how his time there informed him. gave shape. I listened to it CONSTANTLY, I still listen to it!’
Glazer also stated that Strahan has contributed generously to military causes.
“Without fanfare, I personally saw him donate thousands of dollars of clothing to veterans, including many homeless veterans, as well as clothing for veterans to go to job interviews,” he continued.
‘I know people want to get angry quickly these days, but maybe first, how is THIS a novel idea? ASK if they are protesting something. When you protest you want people to know, right?
Glazer added: “He was NOT, he just got caught up in how beautiful the whole moment was during the anthem and didn’t think about it.” Ask the guy before you form an angry mob, but maybe you’ll also find out everything he’s done for our veterans over the years.
