McDonald’s Australia has brought Britain’s most popular menu item to Australia for the first time.
Customers can now get their hands on the Steakhouse Stack as part of the limited-edition winter menu.
But UK fans might notice something is wrong with the burger which had undergone an Australian makeover.
The burger is made with two beef patties, shredded lettuce, crispy golden onions and sliced red onions topped with a creamy peppercorn mayo, served on a toasted gourmet bun like its UK counterpart.
Here’s the difference: the Australian version offers a version of Aussie Jack cheese instead of cheddar, is made with Australian-grown beef, and has a gourmet bun instead of a seeded bun.
Mozzarella sticks, another fan favorite, have also appeared on the latest menu and are now served with sweet chili sauce.
Liz Whitbread, McDonald’s Australia senior brand manager, said: ‘Our winter menu aims to give our customers a seasonal twist to iconic McDonald’s flavours.
‘Featuring a hearty new UK burger with an Australian twist, paired with a side of cheese and delicious banana-flavoured desserts, Macca’s is bringing smiles, warmth and comfort this winter for the whole family.’
Originally from the UK, the Steakhouse Stack is made with two 100% Australian beef patties, shredded lettuce, crispy golden onions and sliced red onions topped with a creamy peppercorn mayo, served on a toasted gourmet bun.
Mozzarella Sticks, another fan favorite, also appeared on the latest menu and are now served with sweet chili sauce.
The popular Banana Caramel Cake has also returned after a four-year hiatus (right), while the Chocolate McFlurry with Banana Caramel Cake made its debut (left).
Customers should act fast if they want to try the Australian version of the British burger, as the offer is only available for a limited time.
Also debuting on the winter menu is the Banana Caramel Pie Chocolate McFlurry.
The dessert is made with creamy chocolate soft serve ice cream topped with crunchy dough pieces filled with a creamy banana spread and caramel sauce.
A drizzle of delicious caramel sauce is also added on top.
The popular banana caramel pie has also returned after a four-year hiatus.
Earlier this year, McDonald’s relaunched cult favorite Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramello McFlurry nationwide.
This delicious dessert is made with soft ice cream and accompanied by Cadbury chocolate flakes and a delicious swirl of Caramello sauce.
It became an instant hit after its launch in 2019 and customers have been craving its return ever since.
Customers can now enjoy this delicious treat at McDonald’s restaurants and via the MyMacca’s app, but only for a limited time. Vanilla and chocolate soft serve options are also available.
