Lucy Beaumont joked that she didn’t think her marriage to Jon Richardson would last a lifetime, two years before they announced their split.
The couple, who share one daughter, married in April 2015 and announced their split in April this year, just days after the release of the fifth season of Meet The Richardsons.
In a clip uncovered from 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown in 2022, Lucy, 41, shared her frank opinion on her marriage, prompting Jon, also 41, to ask her “are they splitting up?”
In footage from the show, presenter Jimmy Carr asked Lucy: “What made you decide to settle down?”
To which the comedian replied: ‘I don’t see this lasting a lifetime, isn’t there a song Just Passing Through? A season, a reason or a lifetime.

Jon, 41, was stunned and asked: “Are you breaking up now?” before putting his hands to his head. Lucy replied: “We have a lovely daughter so it was worth it.”

‘In life you meet old souls, new souls, jerks. Before Jon, I’d never eaten an avocado. We’ve had a wonderful life together. We’ve had a daughter.
“Who knows what will happen in the future.”

They began dating in 2013 after meeting through their friend Roisin Conaty and worked together on several shows including Meet The Richardsons.
But in a joint statement in April, the couple said: “After 9 years of marriage, we would like to announce that we have separated. We have jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go our separate ways.”
Jon handed over £1.625 million to Lucy when they ended their nine-year marriage.

The couple starred together on the mockumentary-style show Meet the Richardsons for seven years and amassed a fortune of £6m.
But documents from a company they had run together reveal that in June, two months after their split, Jon, 41, paid Lucy, 40, £1.625million for her shares in a company they had run together.
Jon even had to pay HMRC £8,125 in stamp duty after buying his share in the business This Guy at Night Limited.
According to recently filed accounts, the company was worth £4m last year and the couple are still listed as co-owners of a £1m detached house with a swimming pool in Yorkshire and a £1m flat in a posh part of north London.

In an interview last year, Lucy hinted that Meet the Richardsons would be ending.
She said: “This will probably be the last one and we are leaving very happy.”
Last year, Lucy confessed that viewers often don’t understand that their fights aren’t real, saying: ‘It’s been great, but I see comments on social media and people don’t seem to realise it’s not real…
‘I’m not a bully, we wouldn’t have lasted this long if I had been that mean to him in real life. You don’t want to see a couple of vain lovers, in a nice house, with a stable career and a lovely child. Who wants to see that?
“I wouldn’t do it if we were going to be like that. We’ll show the other side that we’re constantly fighting. It’s a more truthful representation…”
“The world around us is a bit strange, but I think people still feel like they recognize themselves in it, which is good.”
Meanwhile, Jon has landed a major role following the shock split, joining the Absolute Radio team in September.

Jon is best known as team captain on Channel 4’s popular show 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.
He also co-presents Down the Dog alongside Matt Forde, who is a presenter on Absolute Radio and has a Saturday afternoon show.
