A Western Australian mother scratched her head after making a very unusual find on a Ledge Point beach.

A beachgoer was left baffled when he saw a sea creature with “alien-like” tentacles in the sand.

This Western Australian mother was walking along Ledge Point beach, an hour and 20 minutes north of Perth, when she came across something she didn’t recognize.

Thick white rubbery strands protruding from the sand looked like jellyfish tentacles or something ‘alien’ scattered all over the beach.

Many shared their guesses about what the mysterious objects were before the mother discovered that they were simply dead seaweed that had been bleached by the sun.

‘Found on Ledge Point Beach. Some in groups and others in individual strands emerging from the sand. The kids and I are curious, does anyone know what it is? the woman asked on a Reddit. mail.

People responded quickly, with many making legitimate guesses and others scoffing.

‘Linguine. “Must have been swept up in the Mediterranean Sea during last Friday’s storm,” one user laughed and another joked: “Udon noodles.”

‘They look like tree roots. Are there plants nearby? Maybe the sand was blown away by a storm? a third offered.

‘Bleached seagrasses. Which is a real plant, unlike algae,” someone added.

Other guesses included beach worms and squid eggs, with the woman adding that they felt like “bean sprouts” and didn’t move when poked.

‘It’s another reason not to go to Australia!’ one person joked and another agreed: ‘Whatever it is, if it’s in Australia it’ll probably kill you!’

One beachgoer said he saw the same thing at Ledge Point and also wondered what the creature could be.

“We gave it a tug and it seemed firmly stuck in the sand,” they added.

Some people suggested that it could be dead seaweed that had washed ashore and had lost its color from exposure to the sun.

“After many Google image searches and some of these answers, I have come to the conclusion that it is possibly an algae that has been bleached by the sun because it is not underwater,” the mother decided.
