MLB star rookie Paul Skenes is all about baseball, but when it comes to appearing in girlfriend Olivia “Livvy” Dunne’s TikTok videos, he doesn’t seem all that excited.
There’s no need to worry, though, as Dunne gave the perfect explanation to her friends and fans about her boyfriend’s lack of social media skills.
On Monday, baseball’s most prominent couple filmed a TikTok video from a private jet taking them to the MLB All-Star game in Arlington, Texas, though Skenes appeared to make no effort to follow Dunne as she recited the words of the audio that appeared in the post.
The pair’s contrasting vibes led one person to jokingly comment: “That was probably the hardest he could muster. Good job, Paul.”
Dunne replied: “He doesn’t know how to tick.”

For a guy who usually keeps to himself, Skenes has appeared in several of Dunne’s TikTok posts lately — the platform where the model boasts 8 million followers — including one in which the Pirates star is surprised with balloons and pizza at his apartment after his first selection to the MLB All-Star game.
Dunne also showed off her boyfriend in a post in May with the caption: ‘POV: They both wake up from a nap to find out he’s in the MLB.’
The LSU gymnastics star was in the stands for the MLB All-Star Game festivities, where she dazzled on the pregame red carpet alongside a dapper-looking Skenes. She was even seen cheering him on during his one-inning cameo on the mound.
The Pirates rookie impressed on the mound at the All-Star Game, but only pitched one inning.
Dunne was spotted cheering on her boyfriend in the stands at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
The Fullerton, California, native threw seven pitches at 98.2 mph or faster in his first All-Star appearance, five of which were 99.6 mph or faster.
Before the start of the All-Star break, Dunne revealed his amazement at how hard Skenes can throw.
“My brain can’t even process how hard he throws,” she said on the red carpet. “It’s incredible and it’s a joy to watch.”
