Three-year-old Levi Wright was seriously injured after driving his toy tractor into a raging river near the family home in Beaver County, Utah, on May 21.

Levi Wright’s mother has revealed the heartbreaking truth about how the boy fell into the creek where he drowned.

Kallie Wright dove in to rescue the three-year-old boy after he disappeared under fast-moving waters on her property in Milford, Utah, on May 21.

He survived 12 days in the hospital with glimmers of hope that he might regain brain function, until he was taken off life support on Sunday.

Kallie explained in detail Thursday for the first time how Levi fell into the creek while driving his toy tractor across her 24 acres of land.

She explained that the creek separated her and her husband, rodeo star Spencer Wright’s property from that of Levi’s grandparents.

There is a path across the stream which, depending on the water level, occasionally covers the path at the crossing, as happened on May 21.

“My kids have ridden bikes, driven toys, and even walked here a million times,” he wrote on Facebook.

‘Water only circulates for a short period of time during the year and can change overnight.

“Levi didn’t do anything he hadn’t done before, but this time the water was at its peak and strong enough to push his tractor off the road and into the creek while he was driving.”

Kallie, not knowing the water level, told Levi not to cross the stream because his grandmother was not home and to just walk around the house.

However, Levi, being a free-spirited child, did not listen.

“As he walked away, I ran back into the house. “That is a decision that will haunt me for the rest of my life,” Kallie wrote.

‘At that time he was just my responsibility. Whether I went back to check on my baby’s sleep, change clothes, wash a bottle, or put away lunch, I honestly don’t know.

“Whatever it was, it wasn’t more important than following it that day.”

Kallie wrote that although she believed God predetermined the outcome of everyone’s lives, including when they would end, it still kept her awake at night.

“This will keep me up at night for eternity, but I know three things are true,” he wrote, sending a message to people who criticized his actions that day.

‘First, I’m not a perfect mom but I’m a good mom. Two, my little boy loved me with everything he had.

‘Three, never say never because it only takes a few seconds and it can happen to you too.

“I pray that anyone who judges me or has hurtful words to say never finds themselves on the receiving end of a nightmare like this.”

The dinosaur-loving boy was taken by ambulance to Beaver County Hospital before being flown to Children’s Primary Hospital in Salt Lake City.

The initial prognosis was devastating as doctors concluded that he suffered brain death due to lack of oxygen while underwater.

But his heart was beating on its own and Levi’s father said the family “received multiple small miracles” and doctors were “amazed by the progress he had made.”

Then, on May 24, the family thought they had been granted the miracle they were praying for.

‘LEVI WOKE UP!’ Kallie posted: ‘I’m shocked we don’t know much but the doctor said it was okay to be emotional about it and I am! My baby is so tough!

‘He got a little wild so we had to calm him down again, but my heart!

‘He actually woke up while we were talking to one of the doctors about his love of diggers and tractors!’

But a few hours later they received much sadder news.

“The MRI was not good,” Kallie wrote.

‘We are devastated, but they are just images that suggest a certain quality of life. What will really tell us everything will be what Levi does over the course of a few days.

Kallie posted again last Thursday when another brain scan showed little improvement.

“They keep Levi comfortable, they tried to take him off sedation and he couldn’t,” she wrote.

“It was heartbreaking to see and he is now heavily sedated until the next step.”

Finally, on Sunday, Kallie and Spencer made the decision they feared.

“After several sleepless nights, much research, multiple conversations with the best neurologists in the world and millions of prayers, we are here facing our greatest fear,” he wrote.

‘Soon I will climb into bed with my baby and hold him as he falls asleep for the last time on this earth.

‘Levi showed us enough to buy time for all this.

‘We prayed that those things were him defying the odds and showing us that he wanted to stay here. But now we see that he wanted to give us time to find peace by letting go.

“I told them my baby was thoughtful and considerate, I really think he did it for us.”

Family friend Mindy Sue Clark broke the news of Levi’s death in a Facebook post at 8:14 a.m. Monday.

“I don’t want to focus on the bad or the sad, even though I feel like someone has ripped my heart out and pressed it in front of me,” she wrote.

‘I want to focus on the many miracles that we were all able to witness in those 12 days. The response to Levi’s story was absolutely incredible.

‘Levi Spencer Wright – March 24, 2021 – June 2, 2024. The most perfect three-year-old who ever lived. So perfect that we couldn’t keep it.

‘I don’t want to focus on the bad or the sad, even though I feel like someone has ripped out my heart and pressed it in front of me.

‘Hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people surrounded our best friend, lifting him up in prayer and lovingly embracing Levi and his family.

“Soon I will climb into bed with my baby and hold him as he falls asleep for the last time on this earth,” Kallie wrote on Sunday.

“We’ve never seen or experienced anything like it. I don’t know if we’ll ever be able to fully process it.

‘I’m so grateful for all the time I had to be his ‘Aunt Mindy.’ That is a blessing I will never be able to surpass.”

Friends rallied with a series of fundraisers for Kallie, Spencer and their two other children, leaving the family in awe of the outpouring of love.

“During this time he brought out humanity across the country, brought many to their knees and reminded them of what truly matters in this world,” Kallie wrote.

“We will miss him every second of every day here, but we feel, without a doubt, that this is the best thing we can do for him.

‘We love you little beans. I’m going to miss you like a crazy friend!’
