Leona Lewis revealed she is “heartbroken” as she shared the sad news on Instagram on Tuesday that her beloved dog Forrest had died.
The 39-year-old singer said “Life will never be the same without” the dog, but she is “grateful” to have been able to be a mother to the Chihuahua.
Alongside a gallery of snaps of Forrest, Leona gushed that the adorable pooch was her “best friend” and revealed that he often accompanied her to the music studio.
The X Factor star also shared several snaps of her Doberman Zion who she lost two years ago.
She wrote: “I don’t really know where to begin… I’m heartbroken. I had to say goodbye to my little Forrest, my best friend through many stages of my life.

‘I had just gotten to the point where I could talk about the loss of Zion, my beautiful Doberman who passed away 2 years ago. It was only 2 weeks after Carmel was born, so it was very difficult to process the pain of losing him at that time.
‘Forrest and Zion were two of the most precious gifts and I am so grateful for every day I got to spend with them. My study buddies, my squirrel protectors, my cuddle buddies, my baby boys.
‘Life will never be the same without you, but I still feel you around me and I know you’re together, lying by a window under that little ray of sunshine you both loved so much.
‘Always grateful to have been your mother earth and thank you for opening my heart with your love.’

The news comes after Leona’s 23-month-old daughter looked identical to her as the couple sported adorable matching yellow tulle princess dresses for a wedding.
The Bleeding Love singer welcomed her daughter in July 2022 with her husband of five years, Dennis Jauch.
Last month, Leon shared some snaps of herself and Carmel on Instagram at her music manager Nicola Carson’s wedding.
Dressed to the nines for the occasion, Leona’s stunning bright yellow gown came complete with a plunging neckline, a full skirt and bows tied at the shoulders.
Meanwhile, Carmel’s sweet ensemble was a light yellow tulle dress adorned with daisies. The mother-daughter duo also sported matching hairstyles, as they both wore their brunette locks tied up in a high bun.
Leona completed her look with a pair of white block-heeled sandals, while Carmel sported cute sneakers.
The singer wrote in the caption: ‘Ladies of the mansion. Feeling all the love on this beautiful day, congratulations to my soul sister @colacarson.’

In addition to her musical talent, Leona has supported many charitable causes and activism.

In December 2019, Leona and her husband Dennis opened a vegan coffee shop in Pasadena called Coffee and Plants, partnering with the National Forestry Association to plant a tree for every cup they sell.
