Date My Mate saw singles put their love lives in the hands of their friends, who helped them find people on an exclusive dating app.
It is the second show fronted by the TV presenter to receive the cut recently after ITV decided not to renew her Sunday show Laura Whitmore’s Breakfast Show.
An informant said Sun: ‘Love Island is a distant memory and she stopped presenting her weekend show on ITV1, so this is a pretty disappointing farewell hat-trick.
“Laura appears to have tried a variety of projects after leaving the villa, including talk shows and documentaries, but it seems even the familiar territory of a dating show isn’t a safe bet.”

It is the second show fronted by the TV presenter to receive the cut recently after ITV decided not to renew her Sunday show Laura Whitmore’s Breakfast Show.
Laura began presenting her ITV breakfast show in 2023, but ITV announced in February that it would be replaced by Farmhouse Breakfast presented by Jimmy Doherty and Shivi Ramoutar.
A representative for Prime Video declined to comment.
The Irish beauty quit as host of Love Island in 2022 after fronting three seasons of the dating show.
She has since filmed investigative documentaries and expressed relief at being a producer on her ITVX series Laura Whitmore Investigates, having previously simply been “the face” of television projects.
The DJ admitted she sees the move as her way of “taking my power back”, after having been “frustrated” at not having “control” over the shows she worked on.
Laura also revealed that she is receiving therapy after being first offered it, admitting: “I never feel like I fit in!”
The television personality confessed that perhaps she has never asked for mental health support, because ‘she didn’t want to be seen as weak.’
Speaking to The Telegraph, Laura said: ‘Sometimes, a lot of times, your job is to appear and look a certain way. I’ve worked on shows where I had no control over my script or production or anything.

‘When I started on Radio 5 Live, I got comments on Twitter saying: “Why do you have that bimbo in that space?” […] I never really feel like I fit in anywhere, but does anyone?’
He continued, “Once I can add something to the narrative and get something out of it, I’ll do it, and I hope to do it to the best of my ability.”
