Kate Ritchie was left blushing after inviting Channel Seven’s Michael Usher on a live date.
During Nova 96.9’s Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie on Monday morning, the former Home and Away star, 45, revealed her mother Heather is interested in putting her in touch with the 7News presenter.
Kate’s co-hosts Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald and Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli encouraged her to ask Michael as her date to Nova’s upcoming singles dance.
‘If Michael Usher is single and Kate Richie is single, it probably makes sense that they were both invited to our singles party!’ Wippa said.
It wasn’t long before Michael called into the show to reject Kate’s offer, awkwardly revealing that he is currently in a relationship.

“The funny thing is, my girlfriend was listening and she called me and said, ‘Tell them you’re not single!'” he said.
“Look, I’d love to be a part of this, but like she said, ‘call that station right now and say you’re not single.’
All the radio hosts expressed their disappointment before Wippa attempted one last act of persuasion.
‘Michael, you missed the slow dance with Kate Richie!’ he said.

Fitzy, Wippa and Kate will be hosting the Singles Ball event taking place on the rooftop of The Gili at Sydney’s Taronga Zoo within the next few weeks.
