Kate Middleton showed subtle signs of tension when talking about her family during a 2010 interview with ITV, according to a Body language expert. The interview took place shortly after her engagement to Prince William was announced, and new analysis suggests certain topics made the now-Princess of Wales visibly uncomfortable.

Prince William and Kate Middleton became engaged in October 2010 during a private vacation in Kenya, and William proposed wearing his late mother Princess Diana’s sapphire engagement ring. The engagement was publicly announced on November 16, 2010, and that same day, the couple sat down for an interview with British journalist Tom Bradby.

In a recent documentary channel 5 noble Kate in her own wordstwo body language experts analyzed the couple’s interaction during the interview. One of the experts, Judi James, pointed out moments when Kate seemed uncomfortable, especially when talking about her own family. Bradby had asked about her family background, to which Kate responded that she had a “very close-knit family” and emphasized the importance of family to both her and William.

However, according to James, Kate’s body language changed when her family was mentioned. “We can see that there are signs of tension on Kate’s part. “Kate’s family is mentioned and this seems to make her more nervous than talking about the royals.” James said.. This, he suggested, indicated that the topic of her non-royal family might have been a sensitive topic for Kate at the time.

As the interview progressed, Prince William talked about the moment he asked Kate’s father for her hand. He joked that he had asked Kate first, since his father “couldn’t really say no.” According to James, William’s light-hearted comment seemed to make Kate feel somewhat uncomfortable. “We can see her swallow. “She bites her lips and that’s usually a sign of not wanting to talk at that particular moment, maybe feeling a little uncomfortable, maybe even a little anxious,” James explained.

He also noticed the subtle tapping of Kate’s fingers, which he interpreted as a sign of impatience or discomfort with the direction of the conversation. “A finger tap usually means a bit of impatience, and I’d probably prefer if you left this particular topic alone,” James added.

Another body language expert, Mike Carter, supported these observations and stated that Kate seemed hesitant when talking about her family. He suggested that she became “very cautious” during this part of the interview.

Despite the brief tension during the engagement interview, Prince William and Kate have been happily married for 13 years and share three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. While Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, are not part of the royal family, they have grown closer to the royal circle over the years.

In a rare public appearance, Carole and Michael recently appeared in a video update on Kate’s cancer advocacy work, reinforcing their supportive role in their daughter’s life as she fulfills her royal duties.
