Youth rodeo stars gathered this weekend to unite for the recovery of Spencer Wright’s three-year-old son, who is fighting for his life after a catastrophic river accident with a toy tractor.

Levi was found about a mile downstream and unresponsive when lifeguards pulled him from the creek near his home Tuesday. Tillas transported by plane to Salt Lake City Primary Children’s Hospital.

The little cowboy was initially considered brain dead, but miraculously woke up from a coma. His devastated parents, Kallie and Spencer, are praying for a miracle.

Many in the community have been organizing fundraisers for Levi. On Saturday, the Roughstock Junior World Finals, Desert Region Rodeo, posted that each of the boys’I rode a little harder for Levi Wright.”

Heartbreaking images showed the young riders kneeling, bowing their heads with cowboy hats in hand to observe a moment of silence for little Levi.

“Each of the boys wore blue and rode for Levi,” the post said. “They say this is the first rodeo all season where each and every kid and young rider had a little more determination.”

On the day of the ordeal, Kallie was outside watching her son play in his tractor-trailer and ran home to check on her 9-month-old son.

In that split second, Levi had disappeared from sight. The frantic mother jumped into the stream to look for her son in the raging river.

Levi’s devastated parents were preparing for the worst and said they planned to “stop caring for him and keep him close until his last breath on earth.”

But miraculously, Levi woke up from a coma Thursday night, two days after he was initially expected not to survive.

LEVI WOKE UP! I’m shocked, we don’t know much, but the doctor said it was okay for me to be emotional about it, and I AM! My baby is so tough!’ she said.

‘He got a little wild so we had to calm him down again, but my heart!’

On Friday they received the devastating news that an MRI gave a poor prognosis for the young man.

Following the advice of a new doctor, the parents were asked to give their son some time.

‘We have time for a miracle!’ the family wrote on their Facebook after their son woke up.

“Levi’s heart is beating on its own, he wants to breathe, but his sweet little brain has been without oxygen for too long and there’s no turning back,” a previous update read.

Photos on social media show Kallie in her son’s hospital bed cradling him in her arms, while her father stands nearby.

On Sunday she wrote: ‘This is an experience, I pray from the bottom of my soul that you never have to know the way I am starting to do it.

‘This is a roller coaster on which you get on accidentally and blindfolded, without knowing what comes next. You just have to wait and endure. “We are taking it day by day.”

She shared the type of brain injury her son could suffer and the unknowns that await him.

‘The term ‘Brain Damage’ is very broad, there are ranges and different severities. No two brain injuries are the same, even if the accident is similar. No two brains recover or do not recover the same.

“There are a lot of things medical professionals don’t know, but what they do say is based on legitimate medical literature and history.”

Kallie expressed how grateful she is for her doctor’s guidance, saying “he has given us the most precious gift of time.” Something we almost didn’t have.’

‘Our doctor is nothing short of extraordinary and I believe with all my being that your heart is set on him.

‘Whether it’s time to see if God provides us with a miracle or if it’s time for us to investigate, learn and process all of this to make the most informed decisions.

In the heartbreaking post, she continued to ask for prayers and “for the years to come.” She said: “I’m afraid we haven’t even gotten to the hardest part of this.”

‘Every decision Levi’s father and I make will be based on what we, the two people who know him best, think he would want. In all this, he comes first.

“We are exploring the therapies that have been mentioned, engaging with those that we think may be supportive for us and bringing as many professional eyes on this as possible.”
