Legendary ’70s band Judas Priest were forced to cancel their show Tuesday night, just hours before their Texas stage performance.
The heavy metal band, currently consisting of Rob Halford, Ian Hill, Glenn Tipton, Scott Travis and Richie Faulkner, is currently performing across the United States in celebration of their latest album, Invincible Shield.
The Breaking The Law singers were due to take the stage at Sugar Land in Houston, Texas, but took to social media to issue a statement canceling the concert due to “unforeseen circumstances.”
The message read: ‘We are notifying you with an update on your event. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Judas Priest’s show on October 22 at Smart Financial Center in Sugar Land has been canceled.
“Refunds will be available at the point of purchase.”

While they didn’t elaborate, they added: “If you purchased from a third-party reseller (Ticketmaster, StubHub, SeatGeek, VividSeats), etc., please contact your point of purchase.”
It comes after the group, which first formed in 1969, recently performed in Phoenix, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Reno and Portland.
The next stop on their tour is Austin on Thursday before the final US date in Dallas on Saturday; There are currently no changes to those dates.
The rockers rose to fame with the release of their debut album, Rocka Rolla, in 1974.
Their latest album was released earlier this year and reached the top of charts around the world, including Sweden, Switzerland and Germany.
Rob previously spoke about life on tour and shared that Texas has a special place in the group’s heart and history, telling the Houston Chronicle: “When Priest first came to America in the late ’70s, Houston already knew us.
‘Texas already knew us, Dallas, San Antonio, this part of the United States had already tuned in and turned us on. Texas was waiting, Houston was waiting, through the great jobs some of our friends were doing in rock radio, spreading the gospel of heavy metal.
‘We spent a lot of time in Texas. We couldn’t believe there were so many places to go. Everyone wanted to see Priest, and that never left us, that generous heart of Texas. It’s a joy to return. We’re finishing up in Texas.
