Jose Mourinho made his mark as Fenerbahce manager by being booked 20 minutes into his first league game in charge of the club.
Mourinho, 61, was appointed manager of the Turkish giants this summer, replacing former boss Ismail Kartal, who was moved on despite leading the club to 99 points last season.
The former Chelsea, Real Madrid and Inter Milan boss has been welcomed back to Istanbul in his first role since being sacked by Roma in January.
Mourinho has already overseen three Champions League games, with Fenerbahce beating Swiss side Lugano 6-4 on aggregate in the second qualifying round, before losing the first leg of their third qualifying round tie against Lille 2-1 last week.
And on Sunday, Mourinho took charge of Fenerbahce’s opening game in the Turkish Super Lig this season, with the club hoping to win the domestic title for the first time since 2013-14.

At the beginning of the match, the referee made him angry and he protested to the fourth official.
Mourinho’s protests finally proved too much and referee Atilla Karaoglan decided to intervene.
Fenerbahce hosted Adana Demirspor at their Sukru Saracoglu Stadium, but Mourinho got off to a fiery start.
In a hectic start to the match, Mourinho already showed his lively side by reproaching the fourth official on several occasions.
But after just 20 minutes, the Portuguese coach’s frustration boiled over in front of the referee.
Mourinho vented his frustration when a decision went against his team as he gesticulated furiously and shouted at the referee and fourth official.
Referee Atilla Karaoglan decided to intervene and showed Mourinho a yellow card as the 61-year-old, who looked furious, showed he remains an extremely fiery figure on the touchline.
Mourinho’s booking comes after he was also booked during the 2-1 defeat to Lille last week after losing his temper with the referee.
And many fans were delighted to see Mourinho back to his energetic self in the dugout.
Fans enjoyed watching Mourinho in high spirits as his side took on Adana Demirspor on Sunday.
Fans praised Mourinho and the drama he brings, with some saying he “should never change”
Despite the drama, Mourinho got off to a perfect start and Fenerbahce won the match 1-0.
One said: ‘Jose, please don’t ever change’, while another added: ‘Mourinho is going to be pure cinema all season and I have to see him’.
Another fan joked, “A special welcome for someone special,” while another follower said, “The drama is back.”
Meanwhile, another fan joked: “It’s going to be a very long season.”
Despite Mourinho’s antics, Fenerbahce won the match against Adana Demirspor 1-0, with former Manchester City star Edin Dzeko scoring the winner after 34 minutes.
