Jonathan Owens is Simone Biles’ biggest cheerleader.
The NFL player sported his wife’s face on a T-shirt and carried a larger-than-life image of her as he showed his support at the Paris Olympics trials over the weekend.
“There are no words that can describe how proud I am of you babe,” Owens wrote on Instagram after Biles secured her spot on Team USA with a stunning floor routine.
“Just knowing all the work you put in and everything you went through, and still coming back and being as dominant as ever, left me speechless,” she added in the caption of the post, which featured a snap of the pair kissing.
“I’m so grateful to be a part of this journey with you and I can’t wait to see you there in Paris. I’m so happy for you babe!”

“To come back and be as dominant as ever left me speechless,” she said of the star gymnast.
“Cheers to participating in your third Olympics!!!!!! It sounds so surreal to be able to say that my wife is the best to ever participate, how could I be so lucky? I love you so much,” she concluded the sweet post.
Owens’ post also included several photos of the 27-year-old, who is the most decorated gymnast in history, as she competed at the Target Center in Minneapolis.
Earlier in the day, he led the standing ovation for Biles when she earned a spot on the team for the third time.
“We’re going to Paris. I’m so proud,” the Chicago Bears player wrote on Instagram on Sunday.
Biles earned a total score of 117.225 ahead of Sunisa Lee and Jordan Chiles, who finished second and third, respectively.
Jade Carey and Hezly Rivera rounded out the top five, while Joscelyn Roberson and Leanne Wong will also join the team as travelling replacements.
“My wife is the best I could ever do, how did I get so lucky?” he wrote in the lengthy post.
Owens also praised his wife, whom he married in 2023, in a sweet Instagram story.
Television cameras captured him jumping to his feet and cheering on Biles at the trials in Minneapolis.
During the 2021 Tokyo Games, Biles withdrew from the all-around final to focus on her mental health, opting to see a therapist weekly.
“I knew I wasn’t done after the performances in Tokyo,” Biles told NBC.
“So just getting back in the gym and working hard and trusting the process… I knew I would be back,” he added.
This is the first time Owens, who was granted time off from Bears training camp to support his wife, will see her compete in person at an Olympics.
The couple was not a couple when she made her debut in Rio in 2016, while the 2021 Tokyo Olympics were held behind closed doors due to the coronavirus.
Biles and Owens, who began dating at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, tied the knot in April 2023.
“Yes, officially, Owens,” Biles wrote in the caption for a series of photos. “This is your cue to marry your best friend.”
Her boyfriend echoed the same sentiment, adding: “My person, forever.”
