The main character of Maiwenn is introduced, making a regal introduction, as she is told not to look the king in the eye and that “one does not show feelings at court.”
Jeanne completely ignores protocol and looks Louis straight in the eyes as she slowly bows to him, while someone says, ‘Who does he think he is?’
One of Louis’s servants tells Jeanne that the king wants to meet her, as she enters his chambers and tells him that she feels “honored” to be there.
He offers her champagne before kissing, as a title card reveals that this is based on “the true untold story.”
