Dak Prescott will likely be placed on injured reserve after suffering a hamstring injury on Sunday.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones confirmed that quarterback Dak Prescott will likely be on injured reserve with a hamstring injury.

Prescott suffered the injury during the Cowboys’ 27-21 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

NFL Network experts Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported on the injury on Monday. Earlier Tuesday, Jones appeared on 105.3 The Fan with an update on Prescott’s status.

“We’re probably going to do an IR,” Jones told the station.

The injury could keep the veteran sidelined for at least four games.

Prescott underwent an MRI after suffering the injury in the second half against Atlanta.

Prior to Jones’ update, initial reports from NFL Network suggested the results were worse than initially feared. Pelissero also noted that the team had yet to decide whether to place Prescott on injured reserve.

Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy said Monday that the club was still evaluating Prescott’s injury.

“Once we get the doctors and really figure out where he is,” McCarthy said, “those are conversations that will probably happen here over the course of this week.”
