It looks like Jennifer Garner is taking advantage of the long Labor Day holiday weekend to get some rest and relaxation.
On Sunday, she headed to BMO Stadium in Los Angeles to watch a Women’s Professional Soccer League (WPS) match between the Chicago Red Stars and Angel City FC.
The game has a little special meaning for the long-time Hollywood star, who is also part of an investment group that now owns the club.
Dressed casually for the outing, the busy mother of three came prepared for comfort in the fashion department in a white T-shirt, dark sunglasses and her dark brown locks falling straight past her shoulders with a center part.
Jennifer Garner, 52, took advantage of the three-day Labor Day holiday weekend to attend a soccer match between her Angel City FC and the Chicago Red Stars at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles on Sunday.
The veteran Hollywood star is part of the ownership group of Angel City FC of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL)
While most people know her as a long-running Hollywood actress and leading lady from the 1990s, she has since branched out to get involved in some exciting business ventures, including getting involved in the business side of a sports team.
Once Upon A Farm, a company she helped co-found that offers more nutritious, convenient and delicious baby food options, is another of the movie star’s ventures outside of the Hollywood film and television machine.
Earlier this summer, Garner and his executive team came up with the idea of doing a cross-promotional partnership between his children’s nutrition company and the soccer club, also known as football around the world outside the U.S.
Once Upon A Farm will be a team-level partner beginning in 2025, as well as the club’s exclusive partner for healthy kids snacks, part of a multi-year partnership.
The team is founded by Oscar-winning actress and activist Natalie Portman, tech venture capitalist Kara Nortman, and media and gaming entrepreneur Julie Uhrman, according to team website.
In addition to Garner, ACFC’s ownership group also includes a host of celebrities and high-profile individuals such as Jessica Chastain, Eva Longoria, America Ferrera, Lindsey Vonn, Latin pop superstar Becky G, MLS legend Cobi Jones and the USMNT.
Actress Natalie Portman helped found ACFC with tech venture capitalist Kara Nortman and media and gaming entrepreneur Julie Uhrman.
Angel City FC’s Alyssa Thompson #21 would score one of both teams’ goals en route to their 2-1 victory over Chicago.
The list also includes tennis legend Billie Jean King, Ilana Kloss, Uzo Aduba, Lilly Singh, activist Glennon Doyle, current LA Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, former NFL player Ryan Kalil, entertainment executive Cindy Holland, and WNBA legend Candace Parker and her daughter Lailaa.
Rounding out the celebrity side of the property are 13 former U.S. Women’s National Team players, including Julie Foudy, Mia Hamm, Lauren Cheney Holiday and Abby Wambach.
The Angel City FC team is led by two-time Olympic gold medalist Angela Hucles Mangano, who is the team’s general manager, while Becki Tweed serves as head coach.
According to Sportico’s latest valuations, the franchise is worth $180 million, the highest in the league. The team’s revenue was $31 million in 2023.
In the end, on Sunday, Jennifer Garner and the rest of the ownership group and their fans were able to watch as their club defeated the Red Stars 2-1… raising their record to 6 wins, 3 losses and 9 draws, placing them ninth in the NWSL.
Angel City FC is the first professional women’s soccer team in the Los Angeles area since the Los Angeles Sol of Women’s Professional Soccer closed in 2010.
ACFC plays its home games at BMO Stadium, which it shares with Los Angeles FC of Major League Soccer (MLS).
Taking advantage of the long Labor Day weekend, Garner shared an old photo of herself when she was seven or eight years old, napping with her cat in the late 1970s.

Just two days earlier, Garner seemed to be feeling a little nostalgic about the extended Labor Day holiday weekend.
Instituted as a federal holiday in recognition of the American labor movement and the works and contributions of workers to the development and achievements of the United States, Labor Day has become a day of rest and relaxation for many people, while also serving as the unofficial end of summer.
And that is exactly the idea that the actress and businesswoman seems to want to convey with the retro snapshot that she shared on Instagram where she appears taking a nap on her family’s couch curled up with her pet cat.
“Wishing you a long weekend, 70s style, with a couch, a book and a cat,” Garner, now 52, wrote in the post, which shows her aged seven or eight.
