Jason Kelce has opened up about his move to broadcasting next season with the retired NFL legend set to join ESPN.

After months of speculation about his next move following his retirement in March, New Heights confirmed the Super Bowl winner’s next move earlier this week.

“Monday Night Football just got even better, congratulations @JasonKelce,” read a statement on the official social media account for the Kelce brothers’ hit podcast.

He arrived shortly after The Athletic first reported that the former Eagles center was moving into the broadcast booth.

Kelce, wanted by several networks, is expected to be part of the ‘Monday Night Countdown’ pregame show.

When asked about his next adventure on this week’s episode of New Heights, Jason admitted he was excited to be in front of the camera.

He said: “Yes, nothing has been officially signed or announced yet, but there have been a lot of reports about me attending ESPN and I think time will take care of that.”

‘It’s a tremendous honor to even be considered to work there. That network was all Travis and I saw growing up. We talk about it all the time, Rich Eisen was on the show last year.

‘We talked about all these guys we grew up watching. We loved watching Sports Center. Before phones, that was the only way to get full coverage. We were glued to the TV every day, so the fact that I can potentially work there is a great thing.”

Travis added: ‘That’s an amazing man. It’s kind of interesting to see it come full circle because we used to live and die by ESPN on that TV growing up, man.

“Seeing you up there with a microphone in your hand is going to be very funny.” That’s great’

Jason continued: ‘I’m a talking head now. Well, not officially. I do my due diligence. You want to make sure you’re really looking at things, talking to people in the industry, none of us have done anything like this.

“Throughout the whole process and meeting and talking to the people at ESPN, it became clear that it really was the right thing to do, and at the end of the day, it’s something I’m really looking forward to in this next phase.

“It’s a little clearer now, which I’m excited about.” I know, to some extent, who I’m working with and I have a very, very positive opinion of all of them.

‘I’m excited to learn. I know a lot about football, but not much about this world, so that’s just another avenue to continue expanding your knowledge and building relationships, because that’s what all business is about. It’s always about the people you interact with. I am very excited.’
