Janet Jackson took the stage at the Xfinity Center in Hartford, Connecticut last night and rocked the house like only she can.

The 58-year-old Rhythm Nation singer is currently on her highly-anticipated Together Again tour, which will take in 35 dates before wrapping up in Phoenix on July 30.

The Nasty singer had several costume changes throughout the night as she progressed through her 39-song set.

At one point, Janet, who attended Kylie Minogue’s final concert at her Las Vegas residency, was wearing a long gray jacket over a white shirt and black tie. The cuffs of the shirt protruded from the sleeves of the jacket, which were covered in sequins near the wrists.

An outfit change saw the pop icon re-emerge in a red plaid jumpsuit with a black corset-style patent leather belt giving more definition to her waist.

The Miss You Much singer is well known for her elaborate dance productions on tour and this tour is no different.

The 35 dates in 2024 are a continuation of her 2023 tour, which was the most successful of her career.

“Hi everyone! By popular demand, we’re bringing the Together Again Tour back to North America this summer with special guest Nelly. It’s going to be so much fun! Tickets go on sale Friday, January 19. We can’t wait to see you! #TogetherAgainTour,” the pop star wrote on Instagram earlier this year.

Janet has four acts and an encore in her set and on Saturday night in Hartford, she ran through a selection of her hits, including The Pleasure Principle, What Have You Done For Me Lately and Control in two hours and 17 minutes.

She covered songs from Control (1986), Rhythm Nation 1814 (1989), Janet (1993), Design of a Decade (1995), The Velvet Rope (1997), All for You (2001), Damita Jo (2004), 20 YO (2006), Discipline (2008), Number One (2009) and Unbreakable (2015).

During a pre-recorded segment that played during the show, the When I Think Of U singer reflected on her 51-year career that began as the youngest daughter of the talented Jackson family.

“I feel as excited today as I did all those years ago,” she said.

When Janet burst into her hit Rhythm Nation, she performed the step and pop moves with all the energy, coordination and precision of the 23-year-old she had when the song came out.

While Justin Timberlake (who famously ripped off part of his shirt at the 2002 Super Bowl halftime show) struggles to shake off comments about his drunk driving, Janet proved she is forever the queen of pop.

And in his Saturday night set, he brought his signature socially conscious, groovy, sexy and danceable songs to the 30,000-seat arena.

Janet closed her keynote set with a cover of her brother Michael Jackson’s Scream and the crowd pleased Rhythm Nation.
