James Corden vented his frustration to airport staff on Sunday, but viewers insist the temperamental TV presenter was just expressing his opinion after enduring a nightmare flight.
Corden, 45, was flanked by other passengers after landing in Lisbon, where he was seen confronting a British Airways employee during a turbulent journey to the UK from Faro, southeast Portugal.
But those on the flight say he was speaking on behalf of all of them after the plane was forced to make an emergency stop in the Portuguese city due to a technical failure.
It is understood that the plane struggled to gain altitude as soon as it left the Algarve and circled for 45 minutes, never reaching altitude before announcing an emergency landing.
Vanessa, who was on the same flight with her mother and husband, said Meter of the terrible experience in mid-flight: “It was something like: “Gather your belongings as best you can, take off your shoes and when the plane staff tells you to, please adopt the brake position and when you land if you can, look for the nearest emergency exit and leave the plane.

Corden was flanked by other passengers after landing at London Heathrow, where he was seen confronting an airline employee after a turbulent journey back to the UK from Faro.
“Basically, what happened was that the wing flaps of the plane, which are supposed to go down when you’re in the air, didn’t go down, meaning they couldn’t raise them when you landed.”
Passengers were eventually told they would no longer have to assume the brake position, but they spent three hours on the tarmac in Lisbon before the plane was finally taken out of service.
And Vanessa claims Corden, who once fell out with a New York restaurateur over his alleged treatment of waiters, kept passengers entertained by posing for selfies as they returned to the UK.
“He walked the halls talking to people and let everyone take a selfie with him,” she said.
‘I made a joke and said, “Oh, we’re all going to die.” Could you tell us how the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special ends? and he said, “Do you really want to know?” and I said “Yes.” He said, “I can’t tell you.”
Then he said, “But do you want to know what happened on the fishing trip?” and I said “Yes! Yes!” and he said, “I can’t tell you either.”
Vanessa confirmed that the presenter confronted a member of staff after passengers left the plane at Heathrow – but only because they were directed to the wrong queue.
“Then BA finally let us off the plane,” he recalled. “We are at the terminal and no BA staff were found. And they put us in immigration lines. And there was just no one there to tell us what was going on.”
But those on the flight say he was speaking for everyone after the plane was forced to make an emergency stop in Lisbon due to a technical fault.
It is understood that the plane had difficulty gaining altitude as soon as it left the Algarve and circled for 45 minutes, never reaching altitude before announcing an emergency landing.
“The people he’s talking to in that photo are the flight crew on our plane. I saw him hit the pilot with his fist as he got off the plane and he said, ‘Thank you very much.’
According to Vanessa, the presenter was upset because passengers had been directed to the wrong queue, including families with small children.
She said: ‘James was a club flyer and he stood there and said: “What’s wrong with all these people who have all these children with them?” like saying that’s not acceptable. Not well.’
Eventually, passengers were given a flight to London at 9:30 the next morning and Corden was “in the same queue as everyone else, doing the same things as everyone else.”
Corden has already had problems with several public figures, including Spice Girl Mel B, who called him “the biggest idiot” she has ever met.
Naming his least favorite celebrities on a 2022 episode of The Big Narstie Show, he said: ‘So, there are some. ‘James Corden, Geri Halliwell, Jessie J and me!’

Ricky Gervais also criticized Corden after the host used one of his 2018 jokes during a late Late Show monologue.
Gervais tweeted a clip from Corden’s show in which the host jokes about Twitter users getting angry over a plaza sign about guitar lessons.
But Corden’s joke is a direct repeat of Gervais’s joke from his 2018 Netflix live comedy performance, Ricky Gervais: Humanity.
Gervais, retweeting a clip of Corden repeating his joke, said in a since-deleted tweet: “The part about announcing guitar lessons in the town square is brilliant.”
The comedian said he deleted the original tweet because he “felt sorry for Corden.”
