Kate Winslet is said to be having her own The Holiday experience as she swaps Hollywood for Cork to learn how to make soups and stews on a €865 cooking course.
The actress, 48, who starred in the Christmas favorite alongside Cameron Diaz and Jude Law in 2006, will reportedly spend two and a half days this week taking classes from Irish celebrity chef Rachel Allen, 52.
Kate has stayed at four-star Ballymaloe House, where prices start for a classic double room at around £360 per night, and at Ballyshane Coastal Retreats, which is a 20-acre private resort featuring four sea-view properties and walks near sandy beaches. affirms the irish examiner.
The Hollywood star was reportedly spotted by residents in the nearby village of Ballycotton with her husband Isaac and chef Rachel.
In Ballymaloe Cookery School’s sold-out Cooking for Family and Friends course, Rachel teaches how to prepare meat and vegetarian dishes, from starters to soups, salads, stews, puddings and more.

The course also offers a tour of the organic farm, gardens, dairy and greenhouses, which provide much of the seasonal produce used in the demonstrations.
They then have to cook two to four dishes from each demonstration, with the opportunity to watch cows being milked, sourdough breads made and produce harvested.
Rachel is a frequent guest on the BBC’s Saturday Kitchen and in 2019 was a judge and co-presenter with chef Marco Pierre White on the Irish television series The Restaurant.

In The Holiday, Kate’s character Iris traveled to Los Angeles after moving from her home in the Cotswolds (pictured with Jack Black), but in echoes of the film, Kate abandoned Hollywood for Cork.
After the premiere of Titanic, he confessed that having a normal life quickly became “inaccessible” and that it was difficult for him to “have fun” and enjoy his stardom.
Kate, who was 21 when she filmed the film, said: “It really wasn’t much fun because I guess I didn’t have the kind of infrastructure that went hand in hand with being a famous person.”
