Bargain Hunt presenter Caroline Hawley has given us an insight into her stunning Yorkshire home, complete with a vast collection of designer dresses and even a large room for her antiques business.
Chatting with The Yorkshire PostThe 57-year-old antiques expert recalled one particular find at a car boot sale, saying: “I had almost given up on finding anything, but at a stall I saw this piece of old black cloth lying on the ground and I carefully picked it up, and there, unmistakably, was that unmistakable label.”
The much-loved presenter, who has hosted the BBC show since 2013, also recalled one of her best offers, adding: “I turned to the guy on the stand and asked him how much he wanted for it.
‘She shook her head and said to me in a beautiful Yorkshire accent: ‘I’ll ask you four pounds for this, darling! It’s Dior, who knows!’ Suffice it to say, I took it home with me.
The presenter also runs a successful antiques business called Hawleys Auctioneers, with much of the work carried out in a large Georgian room inside her home, which once served as the main parlour of the Albion Inn.

But long before she became a deal-maker, Caroline studied drama in London as a teenager while attempting to pursue an acting career.

Caroline is now happily married to husband John Hawley, who was once a professional footballer but was first married to Phil as the former couple share two sons, James and Charles.
After welcoming her children, the hostess decided to study French to improve her career prospects.
In the end, he succeeded. She graduated from Hull University and continued to run the business smoothly while juggling her parenting duties.
Now, Caroline lives happily on the property with former footballer J.Ohn, 70, with her sweet brown Labrador.
The couple have been married for more than a decade and organise four major auctions a year at Beverley Racecourse, where they also offer professional services and advice to art collectors.
John made a name for himself playing for Hull City, Leeds United, Bradford City and even Arsenal until he retired in 1986, and He also saved someone’s life during the stadium fire in 1985.
Long before his football career he worked in his My father’s antique shop in 1966.

“I soon started selling little things on my own, but always for local charities. There was also a site we discovered, when we were kids, where people from decades ago would throw away broken things, old glass soda bottles, things like that,” Caroline said.
Caroline has been presenting the beloved BBC show since 2013.
The Bargain Hunt also opened up about how his passion for antiques began, saying he started by going to auctions to bring back and buy items on sale at his village hall.
“I soon started selling little things on my own, but always for local charities. There was also a site we discovered, when we were kids, where people from decades ago would throw things away – broken pieces, old glass soda bottles, things like that,” he said.
During her footballing heyday, her husband John played for Arsenal, Hull City, Scunthorpe United and Bradford City. While playing for Bradford City, he saved a person’s life during a stadium fire in 1985.
