Iggy Azalea doesn’t mean to be disrespectful, but she’s a real single mom.
The 34-year-old Australian rapper sat down with Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson on his Dinner is on me. Podcast to talk about single parenting.
The Fancy singer opened up about her life with her four-year-old son, Onyx, whom she shares with her ex-boyfriend, rapper Playboi Carti, 28.
“I’m a single mom. I’m the only parent, no disrespect, but yeah, I’m not really a co-parent, and that’s the reality,” she said. “I’m one, I’m on 24/7.”
She also said that becoming a mother made her want to slow down her life and not travel as much. She wanted to prioritize her role as a mother.

“I don’t want to travel everywhere anymore. I want to take my son to school. I want him to have memories with me and spend that time with him,” she explained. “It’s very important to me.”
‘I owe my success in large part to my mother, because she spent a lot of time with me and really excited me and made me believe that I was a genius superwoman, an extraordinary dancer, an extraordinary painter, a chef, whatever.
“And it’s important to me, even when my son is only 4 years old, to know that I’m there, instilling confidence in him and helping guide him,” she said.
“It’s my job as a father. I think if you’re going to have a child, you should be prepared to do it and be involved in that way. And I really want to do that. I was on tour for two years with my son on a bus and it was time for that to end,” the rapper said.
Iggy and Carti met in 2018 while she was on tour overseas. They split in October 2020, just months after Onyx was born.
Earlier this year, the Kream hitmaker revealed to fans that she had no intention of finishing her album-in-progress.
In January, she posted a lengthy statement on X (formerly Twitter) that read, in part: “I’ve always been a person who finds joy in being creative and seeing my ideas come to life. For a long time, I used music to get my big, crazy ideas out into the world.”
“In truth, what I’ve known for a long time is that I’m more passionate about design and creative direction than songwriting,” he continued.
‘That’s why I want you to know that I’m not going to finish my album. It’s been on hold for a few months while I’ve been directing a different project and I haven’t really felt the need to get back to it.
‘I feel really happy and passionate in my daily life when my mind is focused on that and that’s why I want to continue doing what is undoubtedly best for me.’

That same month, she joined OnlyFans (after swearing she would never be on the site) and has since released a physical sex tape on her official merch store.
However, it is unclear whether the VHS tape actually contains sexually explicit acts or is just a decorative piece of merchandising, but it has already completely sold out online.
He is believed to have made millions from the swashbuckling subscription-based website after his change of heart, but has declined to reveal exactly how much.
Iggy last performed at the Adult Video News Awards in late January.
