Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Mayank Yadav has impressed everyone with his raw pace in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He clocked 156.7 kmph during the match and bowled the fastest performance in the ongoing edition and overall the fourth fastest in the history of the entire tournament. So far, Mayank has taken six wickets in two matches, helping LSG win back-to-back matches after losing in their opening match. After just two matches, several current and former cricketers have backed the 21-year-old to play for India in the coming months, including former England captain Michael Vaughan.
Vaughan said it would be great for Mayank and India if the pacer gets to play a County season.
“It would serve Mayank Yadav and Indian cricket well if they let him play for a province this summer,” Vaughan wrote on X.

During the match against RCB, Mayank achieved a remarkable figure of 3/14, which led him to his second consecutive Player of the Match award.
“I feel very good, I have won two POTM awards but I am more happy that we won both matches. My aim is to play as much as possible for India. So I feel this is just the beginning and my main goal is what I am focused on,” Mayank said in the post-match presentation.
Mayank has built a reputation for constantly crossing the 150 kmph mark. A 91mph delivery stunned Maxwell, lured him into rushing his pull, forced a top edge out and sent him running back to the dressing room for a two-ball duck and 16th overall in the competition.
The Delhi Tearaway became only the sixth bowler in the IPL to take three wickets in two consecutive matches.
The match saw LSG put into bat and managed to post a handsome score of 181/5 after Quinton de Kock’s daring 81 from 56 deliveries.
In reply, RCB struggled to forge meaningful partnerships, which led to their demise and sealed a 28-run defeat for the hosts.
