The Goo Goo Dolls have announced their first headlining tour of Australia in more than 20 years.
The iconic 90s rock band will kick off their Australia Summer Anthem tour in Canberra on February 20, 2025.
The Iris hitmakers will perform in Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne.
They will also have support from Australian pop rock band Thirsty Merc.
Fans of the American rockers took to social media to share their excitement following the exciting announcement.
‘This is the best news ever. I loved you with Matchbox 20,’ wrote one fan, referring to the last time the band was in the country.
“GGD my all time favorites and my Aussie favorites Thirsty Merc what a perfect line up,” wrote another.
‘I saw you with Matchbox in Sydney and thought (like a lot of people I’m sure) you had to come back and be the headline act. Very happy,” gushed a third user.
The Goo Goo Dolls have announced they will tour Australia for the first time in 20 years.
However, some fans took issue with the band for not venturing beyond the East Coast.
‘Why is Perth missing out?’ one commenter pointedly asked, while another echoed this sentiment writing: ‘Not in Perth?’
Pre-sale tickets for the tour will be available from 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6.
Tickets for the general public will go on sale starting at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 11 through Ticketek.
The band will also be one of the headline acts at the 2025 Yours and Owls festival in Wollongong on March 1-2, 2025.

The band last visited Australia in February since 2002, when they toured with Matchbox 20.
Lead singer John Rzeznik formed Goo Goo Dolls in Buffalo, New York, in 1985 with bassist Robby Takac and drummer George Tutuska, who left before the release of their hit album A Boy Named Goo.
The band began as a cover group before developing a more punk sound under the rather unique name The Sex Maggots.
They rose to fame in the 1990s thanks to a polished power pop sound evident in artists such as Iris, Name and Black Balloon.
Drummer Mike Malinin joined the band in 1995, but left under difficult circumstances in 2013.
