Dr. Cowan compiles projections of the storm’s path from reliable sources to create a map of all possible outcomes. His latest map for Debby shows the storm will move across most of the East Coast as it weakens to storm level.

A hurricane warning remains in effect for the Florida coast from Yankeetown to Boca Grande.

Meanwhile, a tropical storm warning has been issued west of Indian Pass to Mexico Beach, and from St Augustine to South Santee River in South Carolina.

A tornado watch was also in effect for parts of Florida and Georgia on Monday.

The storm is expected to hit Georgia overnight Monday into Tuesday before reaching South Carolina at 2 a.m. Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

North Carolina is in the danger zone as of 2 a.m. Saturday. Other projections do not clearly indicate when the storm system will affect each of the 10 states.

Debby is the fourth named storm of the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season.
