Hugh Jackman celebrated his 56th birthday in a new social media post.
The Deadpool & Wolverine star took to Instagram on Monday to thank family and friends for their “love” after a turbulent year.
‘Thank you all for the amazing birthday love! I am grateful. #thisis56,’ he wrote alongside photos of himself blowing out a single candle on top of a birthday cake.
The post comes amid reports that family and friends were “concerned” for Hugh following his split from wife Deborra-Lee Furness a year ago after 27 years of marriage.
The Australian actor is putting the finishing touches on his tell-all memoir, which promises to shed some big light on his life, and a close friend says he’s worried about opening up.
“He’s nervous, of course, because he’s always had his characters or his family to hide behind,” a source told Woman’s Day.
“He has never felt like the tough man he pretends to be and is worried that his innate geekdom will ruin his image,” they added, before admitting that many in Hugh’s circle are worried about him.
‘Honestly, we’ve all been a little worried about him. He’s been so focused on Deb and the kids and making sure everyone is taken care of in this divorce, that he got lost there.

Fans have speculated what the memoir’s big reveal could be, with the source claiming that Hugh is feeling much more comfortable now that things with his ex-wife Deborra, 68, have stabilized.
There are many explanations to give! “He is now in a much more comfortable situation with Deb…they now have a comfortable, supportive friendship and they are both much happier,” the family friend said.
Hugh has been living his life as a single man after ending his marriage last year.
