Brave bystanders managed to restrain a man after he allegedly fired a shot in a road rage incident in Melbourne’s northeast, police said.
Two cars are believed to have collided in Doncaster near the junction of Williamsons and Manningham roads at around 11am on Monday.
The driver of one of the vehicles, a 32-year-old man, got out of the vehicle and allegedly fired a weapon.
Members of the public intervened and managed to restrain the man until the police arrived.
The 32-year-old man suffered minor injuries and was arrested.
As of Monday afternoon, he remained in police custody and police managed to seize a firearm at the scene.
No one else was injured in the alleged incident and the driver of the other car will be interviewed by police.
The investigation is ongoing and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
