The Home and Away veteran posted the images to Instagram on Tuesday, but thankfully, it was all just special effects makeup.

The 71-year-old actress was busy working on set, filming a scene for the soap opera in which her character, Irene, was in a hospital bed.

The cut on the forehead, which was sewn up, was done by Home and Away make-up artist Hilary Middlebrook.

She captioned the photos ‘Irene’s drunken fall’ and Lynne was quick to respond in the comments.

“I’m so impressed Hillis, you’re a very smart girl. I miss you,” she wrote.

This isn’t the first time Lynne has sparked concern after sharing a picture of herself hurt, but the last time it was real.

Last year, she posted a photo showing her nose, right cheek and chin with scrapes after a nasty fall.

Lynne’s famous friends were horrified by the shocking photo.

“Oh my goodness Lynnie! Sending you so much love. I was hoping it was makeup from filming,” co-star Sarah Roberts wrote.

“Damn, that looks pretty cool! Hope you’re okay Lynne,” added Summer Bay veteran Ethan Browne.

Other prominent figures also contributed their good wishes.

“Take care of yourself,” added TV presenter Myf Warhurst, while My Kitchen Rules star Blake Proud wrote: “Oh my god! We hope you’re okay!”

Meanwhile, her son-in-law’s mother was quick to dispel any irregularities.

“And I promise I didn’t trip her or push her. Poor thing, it wasn’t a pretty sight,” she wrote.

Lynne also shared another image on Instagram from before his accident, where the veteran actor is seen smiling alongside his son-in-law’s mother with a black dog on her lap.

Along with the images, the soap opera star explained what happened.

‘One minute walking your daughter and son-in-law’s dog with your MOG (mother of the groom) Nek minit you fell face first on the ground,’ she wrote.

Lynne has played Irene Roberts in Home and Away since 1993, after taking over the role from actress Jacquy Phillips.

The veteran actress is one of the longest-running stars of Australian soap operas.

In 2021, Lynne published a memoir titled Acting Up: Me, Myself And Irene, in which she revealed her struggles with drugs and an eating disorder.
